A deafening silence surrounded them, Jess took a stroll but was paused by a hold on her hand, a sigh escape her mouth as she kept looking straight.
Both of them tried to hold back there emotions, on one hand there was a solution, and on the other hand there was misunderstanding, and the most terrible thing that could happen with the trails of scenario is misunderstanding.
For Jess, even if things could have been better she didn't want to admit it, her sight was covered by what she wanted to believe, and even if she didn't want it to end, she was ready for it.
Zac sucked on his inner cheeks, trying to absorb the burning sensation, everything was overwhelming, he was this close to loosing his mind,
still he tried,
for her he tried.
Jess brushed her fingers through the dried tears on her cheeks and gave a lifeless chuckle.
"You know what I don't really care" she tried to pull her hand away but his grip didn't flaunt an inch, so she continue this time facing him.
"Time after time I gave you multiple chances, I trusted you when everyone stopped me and you're kissing-" she stopped when he interrupted
"I didn't , just listen to me for once" he gritted his teeth trying his hard to stay calm.
"What's the point, you'll lie anyways as you did all the time ,how much did you bet on me this time? am I just a source of frail entertainment for you" her lips couldn't seal at this point.
"I didn't kiss her I-" he seethed through his teeth.
"But you didn't stop either" she spat back causing him to shake his head in denial, holding her close he cupped her face, as tears kept gliding through her cheeks,
"I love-"
"Is it fun to say these words too? Should I applause for you?" she jerked her face away
"Was it fun getting me so fucked up behind you, you even faked your own parents death to get me just for fun- "
"Shut up" he yelled reducing her to silence.
Her whole body took the impact, as she froze right on her spot, smacking her lips immediately, she could feel her knees shaking, something inside her felt neglected, a feeling of guilt.
Zac took a small stroll towards her causing her to look down.
"All at once I'm regretting my feelings for you" his voice was clipped and filled with a dark rage she couldn't decipher.
"I opened up to you Jess." he took a step back and exhaled.
"I told you everything about myself because I knew you won't judge me, I thought you were different, but you ended up like all the other pathetic people who only care about themselves"
he shouted the last words right in front of her causing her to lift her eye lids, and the looks that welcomed her was strange, all the warmness and affection was absent.
Right now his face showed, devastation, destruction and remorse.
He balled up his fist before letting out the last words.
"If you couldn't respect my efforts you don't deserve them"
This was too much for him, being betrayed by the one who he trusted most and being rejected by the one who he treasured the most. he lost, he gave up, he didn't expected anything better, but that doesn't mean he didn't expected at all.
"If you need a reason to end this, so I'll be that reason." his grasp on her hand was finally lifted off.
he left..
without turning around..
without even sparing her a glance..
he walked and walked and walked without knowing where to go..
because he knew if he would stop, he will turn around yet again
for her.
Once she saw him leaving she fell down on her knee, she clenched her chest. it was mess, her mind her soul , herself. she broke him without even realizing that she was a part of him, and with his destruction came her collapse as well,
She waited for him to turn around
but he didn't.
Chapter 25 : Unfathomable
"With love comes loss"
12 AM
Jess entered her dorm room, her mascara was smudged, hair a complete mess and she herself looked miserable.
Before she could settle herself, Joohyun barged behind her,
"What happened, you didn't do anything wrong right?" her concerns were getting deeper as she knew how complicated Jess could get.
"I did something you should have done when you saw them"
"What" Joohyun questioned, things were getting out of hand.
"I slapped him and I told him how shitty of a person he is, and this is the rightest thing I've ever done." her voice was hoarse but still her ego remained on spot.
Joohyun clasped her hand on her mouth.
"Did you even listened to him"
Jess shook her head and replied,
"You better know about-" Joohyun cut her off,
"Yes I know, everyone knows how this guy is totally whipped for you and how you treat him like shit, time after time he even destroys his self respect for gaining you and look in the end he even lost himself "
Joohyun's mind was exhausted as well, she questioned herself how shady a person could be.
If she trusted him why didn't she even let him make it more easier.
"What are you exactly trying to say" Jess uttered in confusion.
with that Joohyun told her about all the Part with lily and stacy.
"You need to listen more Jess without making useless assumptions" Joohyun paused for a moment.
A whirlwind of emotion passed by her, Joohyun lifted up her chin but she was emotionless ,
"You should apologies to him before it gets late."
Jess stood up and grabbed her coat she exited out of her dorm.
Standing in front of his gate which she managed to get through, her fist aimed to knock the door but the impact didn't came,
she was afraid,
"All at once I'm regretting my feelings for you"
'He regretted having me-'
her thoughts equipped her mind and she exited out of there.
Heavy breaths and voice of sobs were all that were audible right now, she ran and ran on the track field, but the pain kept getting worse, it didn't healed her.
The more she tried to get him out of her mind she is reminded of him even more.
"I was the one who was wrong all the time."
Considering the fact that she could blurt out every possible venomous sentences in front of him without any sensibility...
but now that she think about facing him for apology,
she couldn't.
With despair she sat in the middle of track, hoping for him to arrive out of nowhere and give her a water bottle or to hold her in his embrace but that didn't happen,
she bowed down her head hugging herself.
They say emotions reside on both sides, that night two heart have been completely torn apart due to various reasons,
On one hand Jess was breaking down in middle of nowhere, and on the other hand Zac was staring outside his window aimless clenching the fabric of curtain.
This time he couldn't take a step towards her,
even if he tried to,
he couldn't.
