LEIs POV
It was an early morning, and we were about to head out, to finally take back the city from Amon. Korra gave me equalist clothes so I could disguise myself. I put on my gloves and adjusted them so I have a tight grip. I got my bo, and tied it to my back. There was a small body mirror in the tent I was in. I looked at it and I saw myself. I looked at my hands, and I don't know why, but I tried to make a flame. But nothing came out. I wished I had my bending, it was one of the few parts that made me myself. I clenched my hands into a fist, because I knew I would get Amon back to what he had done to me. I slowly released into an open palm to relax. I took a deep breath and headed out of the tent and saw everyone else outside. Bolin and Mako were exchanging goodbyes. I turned to the right, and saw Iroh approaching me.
"Please be careful, Lei," Iroh said, before engulfing me in a hug.
"You too, goodluck," I said, before pulling away.
I saw Bolin hugging Korra, then I saw Asami coming for me. I smiled when she stopped in front of me. She hugged me for a few moments then pulled away.
"Asami, there's something you should know," I said.
"What is it?" Asami asked. I rubbed the back of my head.
"I saw your father when I was captured, he's determined to get you back, so just be careful," I said. Asami smiled lightly.
"Thanks, Lei, I'm going to do whatever it takes to bring peace back to the city," Asami said, as held both my hands. I smiled.
I turned and saw Mako looking right at us. I gestured my head to the left, telling Mako he should talk to Asami, and he nodded. I turned to Asami.
"I'll get going, someone else has something to tell you," I said, looking at Mako who was walking to us.
I smiled at Asami, before leaving her with Mako to talk. I walked over to Korra, who was talking to Bolin. I whistled for Kaya, as she went by my side. She couldn't travel with us to the Island, so I'm leaving her near the tunnels to get her later.
"Take good care of Bolin for me," Korra said, as she embraced Naga.
"Naga is going with you?" I asked Bolin, and he nodded.
"Naga knows her way around the mountains, its how she found me when you let me go, Lei," Korra said, I nodded and turned to Bolin.
"Good luck, Bolin," I said to Bolin, and he embraced me.
"You too, Lei," Bolin said, as we pulled apart.
Korra and I made our way to Mako, who just finished speaking with Asami. We separated into two groups, each headed for a different tunnel. The three of us made our way to the end of the tunnel, and we reached the shoreline of Republic City. We continued down the water, as Korra used her waterbending to create an air pocket for us to breath, and secretly cross to get to Air Temple Island. Once we were on the Island, we stepped on the shoreline and put on our equalist masks. We climbed up the steep hill, and saw an equalist airship right above the temple. Ascending to the airship, was Amon.
"There's Amon," Korra said, as she spotted him boarding the airship.
"We need to get into the temple, then, when he returns..." Mako started.
"We ambush him," I finished.
We climbed up the rest of the steep hill, and made our way to the courtyard. The three of us made through the courtyard and made our way to the temple, and with our disguises it would be easy. Until, we were stopped by another.
