Team Avatar brought Prince Wu to Asami's Mansion, since there were people after him. It was a very secure and private area so he would be safe. Asami's Mansion was being shared with Mako's family, which Asami generously shared since their own home was burned in Ba Sing Se. Mako thanked Asami for her kindness, even though it was hard for her family to adjust to this kind of setting. It also gave Mako the opportunity for him to introduce Lei to his grandmother, who was nothing but eager to meet her since she was of royal descent. Mako and Wu were currently in a small training room that opened up right next to the pool. They wore punching pads and helmets, with boxing gloves, since Wu insisted he wanted Mako to train him.
"You know there's something about being kidnapped that makes you realize that you need to get his act together," Wu started, as he fiddled with his boxing gloves, that looked bigger than his head. Mako tightened up his gloves.
"Yeah, I agree. Let's toughen you up," Mako said, as he got into a fighting stance by bending his knees and putting his hands up in defense. Wu got into the same position, not feeling confident. Mako took his first step towards him, and as soon as he did, Wu huddled down to the floor, holding his hands above his head.
"AH! I wasn't ready! Wu down!" Wu cried, Mako raised his eyebrow at him as he stood tall.
"I didn't even touch you yet!" Mako argued. Suddenly, Mako's grandmother, Yin entered the room upon hearing the shouting from another room.
"What's going on?" Yin asked, he looked at Wu on the floor then turned to Mako, "Mako! How dare you injure the prince!"
Mako raised his eyebrow in confusion as his grandmother bent down to help Wu get up. Yin soothed his back to console him, and asked, "Would his highness like a cherry berry lemonade?"
"And maybe some of those sticky dumplings too?" Yin asked, Wu looked at her with a pleading look. Mako crossed his arms at him.
"Look at you, you're so weak, Wu down is your catchphrase," Mako retorted.
"I know, I'm a wimp but it's not my fault! I was born that way, I'm not like you, Mako. I wasn't raised by a pack in the woods," Wu argued, as he stood up, crossing his arms. Mako raised his eyebrow.
"You don't know anything about me, do you?" Mako asked.
"Yeah, I've drawn a blank. Why is that I don't know stuff about you?" Wu asked curiously, as he turned to Mako. They've been together for a while yet he has never heard one fact about Mako's life except that he's dating Lei.
"Uh, you never ask?" Mako pointed out, as he started removing his gloves and coverings.
"Well, I'm asking now. What's your favorite food? What's your favorite color? Was Lei your first love?" Wu asked curiously, thinking of all the questions he could ask.
"No, my first love interest was Asami until we broke up then I dated Korra for a brief period," Mako answered, Wu widened his eyes.
"What! You dated the Avatar?! Sit! You and I need to have a guy session right now," Wu exclaimed, as he brought Mako to sit down on the mat of the training room.
"How'd you guys first meet? And how'd you end up with Lei?" Wu asked, curious how he dated every girl in Team Avatar. Mako looked at him, wondering if he should even answer. After a few moments of thoughts, he deeply sighed.
"Bolin and I were playing for the fire ferrets," Mako started, Wu smiled and leaned in closer to listen.
"You were a pro-bender?" Wu interrupted, Mako looked at him pointedly.
"Yes, will you just let me tell the story?" Mako said pointedly, Wu shrugged.
"Carry on," Wu said shyly.
