Regina took the cake out of the oven and set it on the window seal to let it cool off. Henry looked at her. "You said you don't bake?"
Regina blew a curl out of her face. "I don't cook or bake. I know how. I don't enjoy it." She said and turned to face him. She had a headache.
"Maybe you haven't found the right people to cook or bake for." Henry said.
Regina smiled slightly. "Maybe not." She said.
Emma walked into the kitchen. "Smells good. I'm going to start dinner. A few people from the town are staying. Regina are you eating with us?"
Regina heard the other people talking. "I'll eat with you." She said. She knew they were talking about her and she didn't want to give them the satisfaction of eating without her.
Emma smiled. "Okay. Henry would you set the table?"
Henry nodded and bounced over to gather the dinner items.
Regina leaned on the counter and watched Emma start to cook.
"I add paprika." Regina said as Emma made lasagna for the meal.
Emma raised her eyebrow. "Why?"
Regina walked over and took Emma's paprika out of the cabinet and added it. "Gives it a kick. You'll see." She said and stood back.
Emma looked at her but put the lasagna in the oven anyhow.
Regina soon found herself at the table with near ten other people. Henry bumped her elbow. "Do you want to get the cake?"
Regina saw everyone's eyes go to her. She nodded at Henry's request and walked into the kitchen. She pulled the still warm cake off of the window seal and walked back into the dining room. She set the pan down and sat in her seat.
Henry slopped is hand onto hers from under the table. He nodded at her with reassurance.
Emma cut everyone a slice and handed Regina a plate.
Regina looked at the cake. "I don't eat sugar." She said softly.
"You're the one who made it. You and Henry. So you have to try a piece." Emma said.
Regina looked at Emma. "No. I'm not eating cake Swan."
The other guests were looking at Regina. They were scared of her.
Henry took a bite of his. "Will you eat it for me?" He asked.
Regina looked at Henry. The boy beamed. "Please?"
Regina glared at Henry But took the fork and took a small bite.
He smiled and took another bite of his. "Thank you. Do you like it?"
Regina set her fork on the table. "I don't hate it." She said. "I will not be having it again though."
Henry nodded, seeming to be okay with that answer. "Thank you for trying it."
Regina said nothing and stood up. "I'll do the dishes." She said.
"She's acting normal. You do know this won't last right?" A person from the table asked Emma as Regina stacked up the plates. They spoke as if she wasn't even there. Regina ignored them and brought the dishes to the sink.
Henry walked over. "I'll help." He said. "I'll dry."
Regina nodded and began to wash the dishes with the burning water. Her hands red from the heat. She washed the dishes and spoke softly with Henry.
Emma helped the guest leave and she leaned on the door frame watching Regina speak to Henry. She smiled.
Regina finished and helped Henry put the dishes away.
Emma walked in. "Thank you Regina."
Regina nodded. "Emma why do you let me stay here? Do you want me to go home?"
Emma shook her head. "I want you to stay."
Henry slipped upstairs to his room.
Regina looked at Emma. "Why?"
Emma blushed. "I think I have feelings for you."
Regina looked at Emma. She blushed too. "What? You have feelings for me? Why? I don't understand-"
Emma looked at Regina. "I don't care about the past Okay? I care about the future. Will you choose to have a future with me Regina?"
Regina blushed deeper and looked at Emma. Her once enemy. She nodded. "Yes Emma. I'll have a future with you."
