Chapter 8: The Second Page

The next day...

Ariyae awakens completely flipped upside down.

Ariyae: "(yawning) What did I do last night?"

Rox: "Take over my couch."

Rox and Cale have already gotten some breakfast ready.

Cale: "(awkwardly) Yeah, turns out that Rox sleeps on her couch."

Ariyae falls forward and face plants into the floor.

Ariyae: "(muffled) Sorry."

She gets on her feet.

Cale: "We're going to help Rox with her last job before we head out."

Rox: "The sooner it's done, the sooner we can head out."

Ariyae begins stuffing her face.

Ariyae: "Can't be that bad."

Cale: "(awkwardly) This is the Ariyae I've grown to know."

Rox: "(awkwardly) I can see that."

Meanwhile...

Wolf: "Enthusiasm will have her strength sapped away from her, along with Fear."

The group is getting ready to strike.

Wolf: "To think that girl was the one chosen by the First Gods as a successor."

A few hours later...

Rox: "(relieved) Thanks for your help. Those brakes were way more damaged than I thought."

The car Rox was working on has finally been dealt with.

Cale: "We'll head out tomorrow."

Ariyae: "If you say so."

There's another door in the garage.

Ariyae: "What's behind that door?"

The others lock up.

Cale: "U-Uh n-nothing of your concern."

Rox: "Wh-What she said!"

Ariyae: "(confused) If you say so."

A loud rumble shakes the room and their souls from outside.

Cale: "What was that?"

Rox: "A bomb?!"

They hurry outside to find the town in panic as several enemies in strange, grey cloaks terrorize the area with firearms.

Cale: "It's those guys from before!"

A red energy surrounds Rox's hands and feet.

Rox: "Looks like they're after us."

Rox slugs one of them into a wall.

Cale: "That explosion must've happened in the square!"

Cale creates her vines as Ariyae's hands develop a hazy aura.

Ariyae: "So we go in and bust some skulls, right?"

Rox: "I like the way you think!"

They hurry towards the square.

One hour later...

Wolf: "I was wondering when you'd show your faces."

The heroines have smashed their way through the enemy and have arrived in the center of a strange circle surrounding in the town square.

Rox: "(pissed) What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

Cale: "Hundreds of innocents are in danger!"
