Chapter 48: The Fake Fight

The white aura begins to crystallize around her hands.

Ariyae: "Two things are going to happen. One, I'm going to singlehandedly kick your asses simultaneously. Two, you won't even realize that I did."

Rus: "Really? We know the full extent of Confusion."

Ariyae grabs two chunks of the aura crystals.

Ariyae: "All I need is a single touch and it's over."

Rox tries a sneak attack, but Lazarus catches her fist.

Rox: "Then hurry up and do it!"

Rus protects Lazarus from a couple of Lariat's arrows.

Lariat: "We'll grab as much of their attention as possible."

Xaena: "So hurry up!"

Ariyae: "(smirking) With pleasure."

Ariyae takes to the sky before diving down towards the enemies.

Rus: "No problem for us."

Laza: "We won't let her lay a finger on us long enough for you to get the final blow!"

Both of them defend against Ariyae, getting the crystals temporarily lodged into their arms.

Ariyae: "We've already won."

They both feel dizzy as their vision goes blurry for a moment.

Laza: "Is that all?"

Xaena: " U-Uh Ariyae! That did nothing!"

Ariyae: "Watch and learn."

The enemies spazz out for a moment as the entire mood of the heroes do a complete 180.

Rus: "Only minor side effects."

Laza and Rus get ready to beat the shit out of the heroes.

Rus: "Now pay the price."

Laza uses her scales to repeatedly lodge her opponents in dozens of areas without much resistance.

Laza: "Looks like all of that determination has gone to waste."

Rus wraps his body around them like a rubber band.

Rus: "Kill them Laza."

She rips out more of her scales.

Laza: "With pleasure."

All of her scales stab them between the eyes, forcing them to drop dead.

Rus: "Now we can finally-"

Ariyae: "I wouldn't finish that sentence if I were you."

Suddenly they both fall to the floor in a wave of pain.

Rus: "(in pain) What the hell?!"

Their vision clears up to reveal that they are actually battered and beaten to the ground while the heroes stand perfectly fine.

Laza: "(in pain) We destroyed you!"

Cale: "You thought that."

Ariyae: "I just tricked your bodies into thinking they were performing these actions."

Owen: "Trust, you've just been monologuing to yourselves ever since Ariyae got you."

Rus: "(in pain) Huh?!"

Rox picks them both up by the face.

Rox: "Now stay here, forever."

She slams their faces into the floor.

Veld: "Now that this is finally over we can-"

They can see people around the world utterly baffled at the sight of the new races walking amongst them, a repeat of 3000 years ago.

Nyria: "We're not quite there yet..."

They head for the exit.

Makoh: "One more thing..."

Lariat: "... to bring an understanding to the people..."

Thoris: "... then we can go back to making our lives as normal as possible."

They are whisked away, leaving their enemies to rot and a new God to show the ropes to...
