A couple days later...

The sky has finally cleared up as the now patched up heroes head back to the trailer, but with no signs of Lariat.

Cale: "I wonder what happened to Lariat?"

Owen: "I have no idea. I saw him while we were burying those bodies for a bit, but nothing after that."

Rox begins turning the handle.

Rox: "Wherever he is, he'd better-"

They open the door to find Lariat meditating on the couch.

Lariat: "(concentrating) Are we finally heading out?"

Makoh: "Wh-When did you decide to go with us?!"

Lariat: "(concentrating) When I realized that the Second Page shouldn't be treated lightly."

They all hop in and close the door.

Ariyae: "Either that, or you wanted to stop pulling an Owen."

Lariat stops meditating.

Lariat: "That as well."

Owen: "(awkwardly) I never want to hear that again."

Owen hops into the driver seat and starts the engine.

Rox: "So who's next?"

Cale finds the purple light to be the closest.

Cale: "Looks like it's Veld."

Everyone takes a seat as they begin to drive off.

Makoh: "I guess we'll get to see how his medical career turned out."

They drive off, filled with determination with their sixth team member, Lariat.

However...

Lazarus is watching the heroes from the platform.

Lazarus: "So that makes five of the nine that we've failed to capture."

A light smirk forms across his face.

Lazarus: "(smirking) No matter, they're heading straight for the one under lock and key. There's no way my men won't be able to fend them off and possibly get Veld, the Embodiment of Belief, to fight them."

The smirk fades away.

Lazarus: "But he is the one who believes in even a 1% chance of escape. They'll need to keep an eye on him even more than usual..."
