The next day...
Thoris is currently strolling out of the department store after giving his boss the resignation letter with a small bag slung around his shoulder.
Thoris: "(relieved) Got an earful and came out with a weight off my shoulders."
He knocks on the trailer door again.
Thoris: "Hey guys, I just quit."
No answer.
Thoris: "(sighing) Passed out?"
He opens the door to find his suspicions to be true, everyone is passed out.
Thoris: "Seriously?"
He gives Ariyae and Cale a quick shake.
Ariyae: "(groaning) I said the chocolate waffles go in the dishwasher, not the sink."
Cale: "(groggy) What the hell do you dream about?"
They both roll off of the couch.
Ariyae: "(yawning) What time is it? "
Thoris: "U-Uh... 10:12!"
Everyone else gets up one by one.
Nyria: "(yawning) I told you that we should've gotten some sleep sooner. "
Owen: "(groaning) You guys didn't have to listen to me. "
Lariat: "Not easy to sleep when someone is currently trying to let several dinners worth of food pass through their system."
Awkward moment of silence...
Thoris: "Anyways... "
He unzips his bag and pulls out two, yellow shoulder pads that he puts on immediately.
Thoris: "Let's hurry up and get to the Altar."
Makoh: "A-Already?!"
Rox: "Finally something nice and-"
A faint echo of cocking guns rings through the snow.
Ariyae: "For fuck's sake!"
Thoris: "What are you-"
Veld knows exactly what kind of situation they're in.
Veld: "Operation Final Page."
Makoh: "Wh-What's that?!"
Veld: "How they got me. They surround the entire city and close in from all around."
Rox: "I seriously don't want to know how many of these fuckers it takes to do that."
They all head outside to the startling boom of footsteps.
Veld: "But I have no idea where their leader would be!"
Ariyae looks up to spot a shred of the Second Page cloak atop the department store.
Ariyae: "I think up there answers your question!"
A bullet barely grazes Ariyae's wing.
Xaena: "(concentrating) Looks like they're already here."
They turn around to find an army awaiting them.
Rox: "(cracking knuckles) Let's go ahead and shake off some rust."
A yellow light surrounds all of their firearms.
Thoris: "(deep breath) With pleasure."
The guns are ripped out of their hands before they come raining down like spears, skewering each and every one of them.
