It was going to be full moon and we have yet to prepare, speeding towards the Lockwood cellar to get everything ready for the night to come. He didn't speak a single word on our way there, probably worrying about all the things that could go wrong and I was trying to not disturb him as I was aware of how terrible the full moons were for werewolves.  This was the first time I was actually accompanying him and I didn't know what to think or how to help him – he was always with the other werewolves which made him at ease but they were all back at Florida. Yes, I may have encountered him once or twice when he was in his wolf form (I may have been stupid and curious enough to go look for him) but I was never there for the transformation.

We went down a set of stairs into a dim lit room that was nothing but cold and daunting. It shook something within me, a kind of daunting feeling in the pit of my stomach that just refused to disappear no matter what I did, thus I tried my best to ignore it, following Mason further and further into the darkness.

The further we went, the worse the feeling got, now clogging up my airways making it hard for me to breathe.

"You okay there?" Mason asked yet he himself did not look too good. "Just not a big fan of basements like this." I replied, attempting to take deep breaths and calm my racing heart. It was all alright, I was safe.

Quickly, I went back to my normal self, as if that didn't just happen. We checked out the room which seemed perfect for holding in a rabid beast so we left all the supplies – the chains, the wolfsbane hidden in the corner where no light came through. Then, I ran back outside to the fresh air, glad that it was now over and I didn't have to come back there until later.

I didn't actually know what came over me, but these attacks of sudden fear became more and more frequent these days and I was not happy about it – due to them I actually felt fear, pure fear and that was more than I could handle. After all, that was the first emotion I had felt in a long time.

Running back to the Lockwood Mansion took quicker than I wanted to as I was beginning to enjoy the chirping of the birds around me and the feeling of the wind on my back, it made me feel one with the nature however here we were stepping back inside the house where Tyler and his mother were talking between themselves.

"Hey, what are you guys talking about?" Mason asked casually and I nodded my head at Tyler and Carol in acknowledgement. "We were just talking about the old Lockwood property. Thinking of having some friends over for the swim hole. You should come too Mia." Tyler grinned in excitement and I nodded again, a party right now wouldn't be too bad.

"Just be careful, honey. If something happens on the property, the family is liable."

"Of course." Tyler left the room and I soon trailed after him.

"Bonnie!" I greeted her and introduced myself to the man next to her, Stefan. "Hello, we haven't met before but I have heard a lot of great things about you. I'm Mia,"

"I'm Stefan." He smiled but he didn't look any less intimidating. It was just something about him that screamed death yet I didn't stop myself from glaring at him. "So Stefan, what are you and your brother planning exactly?"

"What do you mean?"

"Don't you think I haven't seen you sneaking around Mason and Tyler. Try anything like yesterday, and it won't end well for you, trust me. But it's nice meeting you though." My dark expression changed to a light curl of my lips as I finished with my threat. Stefan's eyes widened a fraction but he didn't reply, rather turning back to Bonnie who glanced between us.

"Come on Bonnie." He whispered.

"I don't know how to make a day walking ring."

"Emily made mine, she made Damon's too. Instructions must be in the grimoire."

"That doesn't mean I can cast the spell." She retaliated.

"Bonnie, you know how to drop vampires with a single look, okay, I think you can figure it out."  Stefan begged and I raised my eyebrows at the situation unravelling in front of me. "Caroline killed someone, Stefan. I can't make it easier for her to do it again." Caroline must have been the blonde girl covered in blood yesterday, the one who murdered someone.

"No, we aren't making it easier for her, we are just giving her a chance to survive. Listen, every day she is cuddled off from her old life. From you, from Elena, from Matt. It will make it that much harder for her to hold on to her humanity." He stated and I wasn't too sure what I was still doing there, listening into their obviously private conversation yet I couldn't just leave.

"How do you know she won't hurt anyone again?"

"Well I think you should do it. From an outsider's perspective, this Caroline seems like she just needs support and time to adjust to her new life and I don't think that will be possible if one of her best friends cannot even help her." I stated, finally feeding in my own opinion which no one truly cared about.

"Okay... I'll do it." Bonnie whispered and Stefan let out a relieved sigh before giving me a thankful nod.

As the full moon was quickly approaching, more and more drinks were going into my system; I was already getting quite tipsy, swaying to the music that echoed throughout the woods and trying not to think how soon the moon would be up and all of this would be over. This was how parties were, at the moment they would be good, great, but when they were over and you were back to your normal life, you would just crash.

Two more drinks went into my stomach before I decided that it was time to go find Mason – after all, how could I just abandon him? Well I could, but then everything could be ruined and the consequences would be too much to deal with so gravely, I stomped off to the cellar where Mason was already chaining himself up as sweat dripped down his body.

With slurred motions, I got out the wolfsbane from the bag and mixed it with the water. Hesitantly, he took it but he didn't drink. No, he was listening to the noises coming from the outside – 2 people approaching the cellar, one of them being Tyler bloody Lockwood who never listened to what people told him to do.

Now, the only thing to do was run.

I ran first, hearing Mason grab his chains and bolt after me back to the jeep that was parked deeper in the woods.

Before we could get inside it, he fell to the ground letting out cries of pain. Crunch. Bone after bone, each of them broke whilst he crawled to the car and locked himself inside. The screams went on forever, each one worse than the last and only after what seemed like hours they subsided to deep breathing and a growl that pierced the night.

I saw Stefan again, in the distance also staring at the car where Mason transformed in. The car window suddenly broke, revealing the wolf that disappeared into the night as quickly as it appeared. I looked back at Stefan, giving him a warning look – he ignored it, I could tell and as he sped away, I knew I had to prepare for the worst.
