Whilst the sun shone brightly outside, inviting everyone to come out and enjoy the warmth, I was stuck inside, listening to Elena and Elijah talk about the plan which almost seemed too good to be true. Yet, their plan no longer mattered because I had one of my own – one that would actually work if nobody knew of it. It came to me last night as I stared up at the ceiling in the darkness of the night, not being able to sleep – that was the time all of the best ideas came to my head anyways. When it hit me, it was like a lightbulb that turned on inside my head – there was a way to save Elena, a failproof way at that. It involved a little Polyjuice Potion that I had kept for dire situations and a piece of hair that would make me look exactly like Elena. Being her couldn't be that hard, right?

I was a bit surprised with myself and my need to save the girl who was nothing to me just weeks before – maybe it was he stupid habit of my wanting to save people who didn't always deserve it or maybe it was the underlying fact that we were in fact sisters and I could not possibly let the only family that I have left to die in a sacrifice. Elena would have done the same thing for anyone else, she always tried to protect everyone even if that meant getting hurt herself and no matter how idiotic her actions usually were, she did it with a kind heart. The girl was so well loved here and I, I didn't really matter so nobody would truly miss me after I was gone – maybe grieve a little before moving on with their lives and that was perfect. I didn't know when I had become so soft hearted, but now I could no longer stop myself. After all, I was all prepared for it anyways and the only thing I had to worry about was someone messing it up.

"Tonight is the full moon. We should assume that Klaus has prepared to break the curse." Elijah said bringing be back from my thoughts. Today was an important day, today was the day Klaus had been waiting for centuries and today was the day he was going to lose – if everyone followed through and Bonnie was able to kill him. Elena said that the Sun and The Moon Curse is fake. That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus."

"Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse is kept his werewolf aspects from manifesting. But if he breaks it, he'll be a true hybrid." Elena let out a deep breath. She was scared yet little did she know that there was nothing to be afraid of – she was going to be completely fine.

"Then why are we letting him break the curse? We could kill him today. Bonnie has the power to kill him and then nobody else would have to die. Everybody would be safe." Damon said appearing out of nowhere – he probably creepily stood outside the door again listening into the conversation and watching just like I caught him doing that one time when Elena and Stefan were talking privately.

"Damon, you know Bonnie can't use that much power without dying, right?" Elena stated slowly, as if talking to a child who didn't understand what she was saying.

"We'll write her a great eulogy." He stated nonchalantly, obviously not caring about anything that happens to Bonnie.

"It's not an option Damon." Elena replied curtly, not having any of it, just like I knew she wouldn't. Damon shook his head, glaring at the empty air ahead, realising that this was going nowhere. "So how do we break the curse?" Stefan changed the topic smoothly.

Well the ritual itself is relatively straight forward. The ingredients..." He paused.

"The moonstone."

"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within he stone. After that Klaus being both werewolf and vampire will sacrifice one of each." Elijah stated but my mind was already far away – what was the best time to switch places with Elena? How could I act believable?

"And where do I fit into it?"

"The final part of the ritual. Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger to the point of your death." But then he took a rather old looking box into his hands. "And that is where you come in." Elena said while holding Stefan's hand tightly.
