Chapter 56: Legends Of Yesterday!

 Barry, Oliver, Kendra and Carter head to the meet and the fight begins. Kendra doesn't show her wings and Carter ends up dying. Kendra gets angry after seeing Carter die and Barry grabs the staff.

"The gloves aren't working!" Barry says after a few moments.

"Let go Barry! You are fast enough to get away!" Oliver says.

"I'm not leaving you!" Barry says.

"Run, Barry, Run!" Oliver says. Barry sees the look in Oliver's eyes and Barry let's go before he takes off running. He escapes the blast that rips through Central City. At the safe house, Marianne's ears twitch.

"NO!" Marianne screams. The blast hits Diggle and Laurel and Marianne places her force field up on the rest of the group and she screams as it rips through them. Everyone screams in pain before they are nothing. Barry gets tears in his eyes as he felt his connection to Marianne extinguish. Barry screams as he runs back in time.

[The Night Before]

The past Barry and Marianne vanishes and when Barry arrives at the building from the night before he finds Marianne standing with Oliver. Barry's eyes widen as he takes a deep breath and instantly feels the connection with Marianne again.

"Took you long enough." Marianne says.

"But I was just..." Barry says.

"Huh?" Marianne asks.

"I was carrying you." Barry says.

"I rode my motorcycle here. I was home, remember?" Marianne asks and Barry blinks confused as he was in shock that he was in the past again.

"Are you alright?" Marianne asks.

"Y-Yeah." Barry says. They listen to the speech and Marianne and Oliver ride back to the farmhouse and Barry stops running and appears in front of them. He turns around and walks over to Marianne and kisses her as he places his hand on her cheek instantly deepening the kiss. He breaks the kiss when Oliver looks over at them.

"Really?" Oliver asks.

"The plan. It's not going to work." Barry says. Marianne looks up at Barry as he looks down at her.

"H-He's right." Marianne says as her eyes fill with tears.

'You're not my Barry from this moment are you?' Marianne's thoughts ask.

'No, I'm from... I'm from tomorrow.' Barry's thoughts tell Marianne and she sniffles.

"Barry, what's going on?" Oliver asks.

"Okay, look, this isn't going to make any sense to you, but I – alright, so I traveled back in time from when we tried to take out Savage. I mean, later, when we tried to take him down in the future, and it doesn't work." Barry says.

"You're right, that doesn't make sense to me." Oliver says.

"My world is stranger than yours." Barry says.

"Well, maybe we use that to our advantage. You say that whatever we do against Savage doesn't work?" Oliver says.

"Yeah." Barry states.

"Then we come up with a new plan." Oliver says.

"No. No, no, no. Okay, look, you can't. You – when I mess with time, it just, it doesn't end well." Barry says.

"But what you're telling me is that it already doesn't end well." Oliver says.

"Barry, the last time that you traveled in time, Constantine was born safely. If you traveled back in time it means that you don't want to lose Constantine or me." Marianne says and Barry places his hand on her lower back as he holds her tightly.
