Chapter 16: Electricity Hurts!

[STAR Labs – Dr. Wells' Secret Room]

"Show me the news of the future." Harrison says, "Any references for the Flash or Plasma Kat?" The computer searches.

"There are zero references of the Flash or Plasma Kat." The computer says.

"How about this are there any references to Barry Allen or Marianne Moons?" Harrison asks.

"There are still zero references." The computer asks.

"This can't be the end." Harrison says.

[Meanwhile – Cortex]

Marianne hangs up her suit and Barry looks at her. She sighs as she wipes the cat emblem on the chest. Barry places his hand on her shoulder and she looks at him.

"I'm going to miss being a superhero." Marianne says.

"Think we will ever wear it again?" Barry asks.

"I doubt it." Marianne says.

"Are you sure you are okay with hanging it up?" Barry asks.

"Well, yeah, it means I'm safer and you don't have to worry about me getting seriously hurt." Marianne says.

"I am going to miss fighting crime with you though." Barry says.

"If you two act any cuter, I am going to hurl." Cisco says.

"Oh shush, you are just jealous." Marianne tells Cisco and Barry smiles.

"I know who the power sucking vampire is." Cisco says.

"Okay, speak." Marianne says.

"Farooq Gibran." Cisco says.

"Who?" Barry asks.

"I checked Marianne's suit footage and got the guy's face." Cisco says and shows the group.

"He climbed an electrical tower the night of the accelerator explosion." Barry says.

"No surprise where his powers came from." Caitlyn says. A beeping sound is heard and everyone looks around.

"What's that?" Marianne asks and Cisco runs over to check.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me." Cisco says, "This is not happening."

"Dr. Harrison Wells! I need to see you!" Farooq yells on the video, "Come on, I know you're inside! Open the door! I just want to talk, Dr. Wells."

"That does not look like a person who wants to talk." Marianne says.

"WELLS! LET ME IN!" Farooq says before he shuts off the power in the building.

"Yeah, I'm gonna say that's a no." Marianne says. Farooq bursts his way into the building.

"He's inside." Barry says. Marianne freaks out and her ears and tail appears.

"I can hear him." Marianne says as she listens, "I can hear static, it's coursing through his body, like blood." Barry calls for help and learns about a hostage situation. Singh hangs up on Barry.

"Joe and Iris are in trouble. I need my powers back now." Barry says.

"I have a theory." Harrison says, "It's untested."

"I'm willing to roll the dice." Barry says.

"Okay, you've lost your speed, yes, but nothing has changed inside you on a subatomic level. In other words, your cells are still primed." Harrison says.
