Chapter 85: Once and Future Flash - I Will Fix Things Myself!

[Later – Iron Heights]

Barry, Marianne, Cisco and Constantine head to Iron Heights leaving Ronnie and Ellie at STAR Labs. When they get to Iron Heights, Julian looks at them.

"It's been a while, gentlemen." Julian says, "Especially you, Flash."

"More than you know." Cisco says and Barry steps into the light. Marianne steps around the corner into view and she looks at Julian and his eyes widen at them.

"Allen?" Julian asks.

"Yeah, it's us, Julian." Barry says, "From the past. 2017."

"2017. The year it all began. Before Marianne died." Julian says, "I'll assume you're here for some answers then, are you?"

"Something like that." Barry says.

"Well, you brought him to the wrong place, mate." Julian says.

"I just wanted him to understand." Cisco says.

"Julian, can we see her?" Barry asks and Julian leads them to the room that is adjoined with Caitlyn's cell.

"I tried to get her something more humane but this is the best I could do." Julian says.

"Caitlyn? It's me." Barry says.

"Barry Allen..." Caitlyn says, "I see you brought Marianne as well."

"I'm..." Barry says.

"From the past. I can tell. There's no hate in your eyes... yet. And Marianne is alive and pregnant. So, to what do we owe the pleasure of your visit?" Caitlyn asks, "Come to see how things turn out for Team Flash?"

"I wanted to see what happened to my friend." Barry says.

"I am not your friend, Flash." Caitlyn says.

"I'm sorry I did this to you." Barry says.

"We should have saved you." Marianne says.

"I'm glad that you did this to me." Caitlyn says.

"Caitlyn wasn't." Barry says.

"We failed her." Marianne says, "But we won't when we go back. We're going to find you and we're gonna help you."

"You're no match for the God of Speed." Caitlyn says, "Not even Marianne was."

"Oh. You didn't tell them, did you?" Caitlyn asks, "Well, secrets always were out thing, weren't they? When I became Killer Frost, Savitar appeared before me and showed me the way. We made one hell of a team."

"Why would you help him?" Barry asks.

"Because he gave me the thing that you couldn't: the cure to the illness, embracing who I really am." Caitlyn says.

"You know who he is." Marianne says and Barry's eyes widen. Caitlyn smiles suddenly.

"So does that little angel you call a son." Caitlyn says.

"Who is he?" Barry asks, "Tell me who he is."

"I'll never tell." Caitlyn says, "You are gonna be so surprised when you find out. You know, I think your protégé when toe-to-toe with Savitar. Maybe he can help you out." Barry turns to look at Cisco. Marianne turns to look at Constantine. He looks away from her.
