Chapter 6

Everyone had given up mostly on searching for Ames. Tails, Cream, Shadow, Rouge, Blaze and Silver searched now and then. They still had hopes of finding her. Half of the time, the main thought was: maybe she didn't want to be found.

The day it had been officially announced that they were no longer going to search for Amy, there was a small uproar. Blaze insisted on searching for her again. To not give up. There was still a chance to find her, they just hadn't look in the right spot.

"Amy is our friend," Blaze said. She stood in the middle, ready to give another lecture. This had become a common thing ever since Amy's disappearance. "You guys practically let her down but not looking for her anymore."

"And? What were we supposed to do? Uproot each mountain and yell 'Amyyy!?'?" Knuckles asked. "Maybe it's time to think that she's..."

Blaze's hands immediately lit up and she pointed a finger toward Knuckles. "Finish that sentence and you're going to be Thanksgiving roast," she threatened. Knuckles' eyes widened and he shut up when he saw Blaze wasn't joking.

"I'm pretty sure Amy wouldn't have stopped at nothing to look for you guys if you were missing. Or more over, what if the missing person had been Chris? Or a loved one?" Blaze continued. "The point is, that fact that you guys gave up on looking for her when she still would have searched for you is sad." Blaze shook her head and left, to keep on searching for Amy.

Silence consumed the atmosphere, tension becoming so thick you could cut it with a knife.

"Whoa there, hun. What's the matter with you?" Rouge asked as Silver tumbled into the house panting. She was packing up some fruits for the search of the day. Blaze was stretching out and Tails had been outside fixing a few things on the X Tornado.

Silver gasped for air, holding a finger up. After he regained composure, he quickly replied:"There is a light on at Amy's house! And I saw a green hedgehog go in casually like nothing!"

"A green hedgehog?" Sonic asked.

Rouge snapped and Sally looked up. "Scourge!" They shouted at the same time.

"That's Amy's brother," Shadow muttered, loud enough to be heard by everyone. After so long... Could it be that she's back? No one could believe it. If Scourge was here, then that had to mean she was back as well.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Sally smiled, breaking the silence. "Let's go!"

Knuckles called the others and told them to meet up at Amy's house. Everyone wondered if she really is back. As they headed out to her house, there was a buzz that hadn't been there in a while. It was welcoming. When they arrived at the house, which like Silver said, was occupied.

The door was fixed, and it was unlocked. Shadow opened the door and everyone slowly walked into the house. "The fire is lit," Tails murmured.

Knuckles sniffed the air. "Something is cooking."

Sonic walked ahead of the group and admired the homey feeling of Amy's house. Suddenly he tripped and fell onto the floor.

"Yeesh," Tails rolled his eyes, "you can rescue people but God forbid you stay upright on your two feet."

Sonic got up and dusted himself off. "The floor looked lonely. So I gave it a hug."

The fire continued to burn and crackle. "Amy?" The team called out. "Where are you?"
