"Make sure you're quiet in here for now, at least until she wakes up." Shadow commented as he opened the door.
Sally and Rouge looked at each other and smiled. "Say, Shadow," Sally began. They both knew that if Rouge asked, he would not answer. If she asked, well... they'd at least get some sort of reply. "Since when do you care so much about her wellbeing?"
The ebony hedgehog paused midstride. "She's a friend." Came his voice. It was stiff without emotion. Sally and Rouge looked at each other, smirking.
"So you mean," Rouge continued, making her way to Amy's side, "even after you both confessed you still haven't made it official with her?"
Shadow looked at the bat, eyes narrowing. He walked, more or less, infront of her, only being separated by Amy's bed. "There hasn't been time."
Rouge lifted a brow, not believing anything. Sally shrugged and moved to sit down next to Amy. Said hedgehog groaned and turned over, facing Sally. The chipmunk gasped, eyes going wide. She then looked up at Shadow before looking away, blushing.
"You know," Sally started. "I can tell she loves you, a lot. You do to. You need to hurry up and take action before something happens."
"Is that a threat?" Rouge immediately stood next to Sally, her eyes set on the ebony hedgehog on the otherside of the bed. He was weary, but this was a bit too much. She could see his fur bristling and his eyes growing dark.
"Now look here loverboy, Sally is just trying to help your guys' situation. She's been and is going through something similar herself." Rouge paused, seeing her words had a seemingly gone through his thick head. "Maybe you should take a rest. We'll watch over Amy for a while."
"B-but--"
Rouge shook her head. "You better listen Shadow. Scrat. You can come back later. But, yeesh, not only that, you smell! Right hon?" She looked down at Sally who smiled sheepishly.
"Sorry Shadow, but... you kind of do smell. You still look good however!" Sally offered. Shadow grimaced. His crimson eyes flickered back and forth between the bat and the chipmunk before sighing.
"Alright, I'll be back in an hour," he conceded. Rouge lifted an eyebrow.
"Oh, no. More than an hour. You're here all day, we want some girl time with Amy," she countered, crossing her arms.
"But you're not the one who's supposed to be watching over her!"
Rouge could see that the stubborn hedgehog didn't want to leave her side for more than an hour. But, she wasn't having it. The title Ultimate Lifeform was enough to scare some people but not her.
"Oh yeah? And you're not her boyfriend to be pinned over her like that." At that Shadow caught on and had his signature frown deepset on his muzzle. Rouge shrugged. "She'll be fine. She has a freedom fighter and a G.U.N. agent watching over her. Now get out, you're starting to stink us up."
Shadow looked at Amy, then at them before finally leaving the room. "Enjoy your girl time."

"I can't believe you stood up to him like that!" Sally giggled, relaxing a bit after Shadow was gone.
"I worked with him several years of my life, hon. Of course I'm not scared. However, this smell he put off. Ouch," Rouge commented. She reached into her purse before pulling out a small can. She pressed on the button and a steady spray of mist began to come out.
"What's that?"
"Air freshener."
Sally sniffed. "Soft Lavender Breeze?"
