Amy's P.O.V.

When I woke up, it was definitely lighter than it was last night. Blinking a few times, I yawned and stretched a little. Then it hit me.

I blinked once. Twice. Everything was clearer. Much clearer. However there were some things still a bit blurry. Suddenly I could see the white hairs that were literally right under my nose. Slowly, I looked up...and then I saw him.

A warm feeling overcame my chest. I could get used to this. His usual frown was absent. He had one arm behind him and the other was around my waist. One of his ears twitched occasionally. I smiled, stretching upwards to touch noses with him. When I pulled away, his nose wiggled. How cute, I thought. I knew the nurses wouldn't be coming in to check up any time soon, it was only seven in the morning. They start rounds at eight.

Slowly, I moved from my spot beside Shadow and shifted onto him. He groaned a bit, probably at the loss of warmth. Straddling his hips, I lowered myself and nuzzled his chest fur. He hummed in his sleep. "Rose..." I froze, thinking he had woken up, but he stayed still. When he didn't move, I made my way up to his muzzle, peppering kisses everywhere. His muzzle, next to his eyes.

I guess I moved a little too roughly, but just as I was kissing the base of his ear, a firm grip on my hips caught my attention as I was pulled down and back on Shadow's hips. "Not fair, Rose." He commented. His eyes were half lidded, a blush covering his muzzle.

Amy smiled down at Shadow. "Why, love? I'm just showing you love." At the moment, all beeping sounds, anything that wasn't of Shadow, was ignored. It was only the two of them in the world. She batted her eyes innocently. He could see that she still couldn't see that well.

Shadow internally groaned. It wasn't that he hated it-- quite the opposite. He had felt the very first touches she did to him. It took every once of restraint to not flip her over on the bed then and there. "You can and have been showing me everyday, a bit differently, Amy."

Also...the sight of her on top of him wasn't helping. Her quills were messy, her eyes were a bit hazy. Pure thoughts, Shadzy, pure thoughts.

The Pinkette shuddered at hearing him say her name. Sure, him calling her Rose was enough to make her weak in the knees, but once her name name was out of his mouth, Lord have mercy. She forgets how to function.

She gulped, regaining composure. "Oh?" She leaned down again, his hands still on her hips. "Is this too much for the Ultimate Lifeform?" She touched noses with him again, closing her eyes. "I couldn't help myself. You looked adorable."

Shadow's eyes widened, left one twitching. To hell with restraint. In a flash, the roles were reversed. "Take that back Amy." She stared at him wide eyed, her hands were somehow pinned at the top of her head by one of his hands, the other was still on one of her hips.

Her breath hitched. "T-take what back?"

"The adorable comment."

Amy licked her lips, Shadow watching the simple action before his eyes went back to hers. "No. Because you are."

"Amy." He said in a warning tone. Her sight, though blurry, she could see how his crimson eyes were turning bright. His muzzle lowered next to her neck, his lips pressing against her neck. "I'm anything but adorable." He growled.

Amy shivered, feeling his fangs scrape lightly against her skin. She gasped when she felt a slight pain on the side of her neck, Shadow soon peppering kisses and one loving lick. She let out a breathy moan, her eyes squeezing shut. He pulled away, smirking at her expression. It was tempting. She was tempting-- her back had arched responsively to his actions, her eyes were closed and her muzzle was flushed. He leaned forward and kissed her forehead. "But we're not ready for that yet," he whispered. "Besides. It's a hospital and you need to recover. Sleep some more." With that Shadow got off and went to the bathroom.

Amy smacked her cheeks. She'd never seen this side of him. Maybe she'd see it one day... she shook her head. She needed to rest!

The pink hedgehog turned over and pulled the sheets over her. Closing her eyes, she only thought of getting out of here.

"Well?"

"Calm down, princess, Shadow just replied. He said Amy is recovering slowly at the hospital, just extra precautionary steps they decided to take," Rouge said, after skimming the detailed message on her phone. She looked up to look at the chipmunk, who put a hand on her chest and breathed out.

"Thank goodness. It's about time that she can see again. Ask him if we can go see her," said Sally, looking up at the bat. Rouge smiled and texted Shadow again.

She then put her phone down and looked up at Sally who had begun to twirl her fingers.

"While we wait for Shadzy to respond, how have you and Sonic been?"

Sally sighed, both of her arms drooping down. "He's after Amy. I'm happy for him, but I still love him Rouge. I'm just a friend now. And as long as he's happy, I'll be happy too." She looked down.

"Oh hun," Rouge got up and moved towards Sally. She put a finger under her chin and lifted her face, revealing her baby blue eyes glittered with unshed tears. "I understand you love Sonic. But hun, there's a time to care, and a time to move on. You're hurt that he's going after another girl, so you let him go. But did he ever tell you he wanted to leave you? Or that he loved Amy?"

Sally shook her head, tears falling. "No... I could tell. It started when she stopped hugging and chasing after him."

Rouge smiled and moved to hug the girl. "Give him some time. He'll come around. He loves you, hun. You'll see." The bat pulled away from her and smiled as she saw a determined look come over her features.

"Alright."

A ding broke their small moment and Rouge looked at her phone. "He says we can head on over, but we have to wait until she's asleep so we can enter the room. Doctor's instructions."
