Chapter 10: A Moment with Sally

"Alright everyone come get your pizza!" Amy shouted as she put the large box down and grabbed paper plates. Everyone filed into the kitchen and grabbed a paper plate as Amy served them slices of pizza.

Soon almost everyone had gone into the kitchen to get pizza. She could hear her friends start on topics that made her eyes roll. Amy could only hope that Cream wouldn't pick up on what they were saying.

"Amy?"

Ah, right. She had been the only one not to get pizza. Amy looked up and saw the chipmunk shifting from foot to foot. Her brow shot up in surprise. That's new. "What's up, Sally?"

It wasn't really normal for the two girls to get into the same room and get cozy. Sally sucked in a breath and sighed. "I'm sorry."

Amy blinked. "Pardon? What for?"

"For everything. Sonic."

"Don't worry about it Sally. He chose you. It had always been you since the beginning."

Sally shook her head, coming forth and slamming her palms on the countertop. "No! Amy, I'm sorry. I was too blinded by my feelings for Sonic I didn't see yours. Until we started dating. I saw the glances you kept sending him. Until three years ago."

Amy pursed her lips. "Sally. Not everyone is meant to have happily ever afters. At least not right away. If I remember, Sonic used to say your parents weren't exactly star parents, were they?"

Sally flinched. Amy nodded. "After what you had been through, you went with the person that made you happy. Don't be sorry about it. After all, you lead me to the one I care about now."

Sally met Amy's gaze. "Who?"

Amy laughed,"Isn't it obvious?"

Sally let out a puff of air. "Shadow. Amy, he searched for you like crazy when you went missing! He must like you back." The chipmunk smiled at the hedgehog. Her blue eyes sparkled with joy.

"Don't get ahead of yourself. I doubt it."

Sally's smile fell off her face as the words sunk in. Was it really too late for Amy to have hope in feelings? "Amy..."

The rose hedgehog shrugged and nodded at the pizza. "Come get some before it gets cold. And you're forgiven."

Sally gave a small smile. "Friends...?" Her hand stuck out and Amy stared at it for a bit. The chipmunk began to squirm on the inside. It was too much to ask for, she realized. But if she put her hand away it would look as if she were running away.

Finally, Amy reached out and shook her hand.

"Friends."

Hey everyone! I'm not dead XD.
Anyways, sorry for the hiatus. I traveled to Mexico and saw my family. During the trip, I had no service, whiched sucked bologna. And wattpad wasn't allowing me to write new chapters to any story, which sucked even more!

However, I am back, survived a nasty stomach infection (lasted two weeks) the trip to and fro, and here I am writing again!

Don't worry, next chappie is well under way and it will be longer. This was a filler chapter that was needed between the two girls that Sonic loved/loves. And Sally, of course as we all know, didn't tell Amy about Sonic's feelings. As it is not her place to say something.
