Chapter 1: Reality Show Mayhem

Jane's POV,

*Rrrringggggggg* *Rrrrringggggggggggg*

I got up and turned off my alarm clock.

It read '07:00am'

I wiped my eyes and looked around my bedroom.

*Is it really morning already?* I said to myself as I yawned sleepily. I walked over to my computer still drowsy and switched it on. I replied a few emails from my penpals then got myself ready for school. To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to it particularly now as I heard One Direction was coming to town for a concert which was actually months away, but since they were chosen on this reality show Stripped Luck or Stolen Fame or something,anyway in that show singers/band/actors/actresses will visit random schools often in disguises to find hidden talents in schools; and it was rumoured that my town was selected and One Direction are the 'spies'. Of course, every girl in my school was ecstatic about it, as it could be any day now that the famous boy band would be staying in our town.

I hurried down the stairs and grabbed an apple from the counter in the kitchen and settled down. My foster mom was cooking breakfast while my foster dad was attempting to fix the bird house that broke due to Buster (our golden retriever) broke while chasing the neighbour's cat.

It took awhile for them to notice my presence in the kitchen. I don't blame them, their kids have long gone off after graduating and getting married; I was just a kid that they took in to be their foster kid as I was studying in this country. Don't get me wrong, they're really lovely, I just feel a bit uncomfortable even though its been a month since I moved in to stay with them.

When Mrs. Brown did notice me, she greeted me warmly. While Mr.Brown just waved briefly behind the bird house.

Mrs. Brown: Well good morning sleepyhead! Did you have a good sleep? Are you ready for school?

Me: Good morning, yes I did thank you. How about you?

Mrs. Brown: Oh that's good. I'm glad Mr.Brown didn't wake you up with his snoring. *winks at me*

Mr.Brown: I heard that! (But I could hear him chuckling quietly   )

Mrs. Brown: *ignores Mr.Brown* Best be you hurry to school now! You dont want to be late, who knows, you might be chosen by the One Definition boy band!

Me: *almost chokes on apple* Oh yeah, right, see you later!

Mrs. Brown: See you in the evening! *Mr.Brown waves behind bird house*

 I briskly walked through my neighbourhood, admiring the scenery and enjoying the cool breeze which I dont get much back home. I wasn't paying attention and walked into Taegan Anderson. (some jock from the volleyball team & my first friend)

Taegan: hey! *falls*

Me: Taegan! I'm sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going *helps Taegan up*

Taegan: Oh! Hi Jane, it's alright. So, did Mr.Brown fix that bird house yet?

Me: He's still fixing it. Why are you doing standing here? You usually wait for me at school.

Taegan: Well, I heard that One Definition...

Me: its One Direction!

Taegan: Geeee. Sorry my bad ! I heard One Direction's in town and I do not want to be caught in the female stampede at school.

Me: Female stampede? Seriously? It cant possibly be that bad!

Taegan: You wanna bet?

Me; You're on !

Taegan: Alright! Free lunch! *punches in the air* Hey! We better get a move on now or we'll be caught in the staaaampedeeee!! *laughs like a hyena*

Me: Haha, we'll see about that !

*walks to school with Taegan*

Upon arrival at  Haywood High

Girls: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Its...One Directiooooooooooooooooooooon!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

*phones & cameras out* *flashes everywhere*

Taegan: Ha! See, I told you! *snickers*

Me: Yeah yeah. You win. Lunch is on me.

Taegan: haha! I can't wait. It's Manic Monday and you know what means....

Me: Don't rub it in, haha! *punches his arm*

Taegan: Hey, watch the shirt. You've already pushed me off my feet, don't ruin the shirt. *smiles*

Me: *poker face* Its just a shirt.

Taegan: I'll have you know...

*Taegan gets cut off as Lynndra comes running towards me* (Shes my other best friend btw)

Lynndra: Jane!!! Did you hear? Did you hear?!!

Taegan: And... That's my cue to go now, have fun chatting girls! See you at lunch Jane, I'll be waiting!

*Lynndra gives me a weird look*

Me: What? I lost a bet with him.

Lynndra: Oh. Anyway, did you hear??! One Direction is in town! Now!!

Me: Actually I...

*Lynndra cuts me off*

Lynndra: And I heard that our school was selected!!! Can you imagine?! One Direction will be in our school, scanning around for talent, for 6 months!

Me: What??! Six months?? "Just great. Crowded places everywhere for 6 months. I thought to myself."

Lynndra: Yes! Isn't that great??! Maybe the winner will win tickets to their concert! I'll bring you if I win! *smiles happily*

Me: *smiles* " I was glad she was happy, its been awhile since I last saw her smile" Yeah it is! Lets..

*bell rings* *everyone scurries off to class*

Lynndra: *pulls me* Lets get to class!

Me: Oh, right!
