Chapter 50: The Break Up?

Jane’s POV

I glanced up the house. Yup, I was positive this was the house. I could recognize the black mini cooper. I took a deep breath as I pushed the bike near the gate. I pressed on the button and said my name. Almost immediately the gates opened, and I quickly went in just as the gates shut behind me.

I parked my bike outside the garage and went to the front door. Before I could knock, Lonardo opened the door and greeted me warmly. “Good evening Jane! Please come in” he said, stepping aside to let me in. I smiled nervous and nodded. “Harry told you’d be coming along Jane” he said smiling as he showed me towards the pool side. “How have you been Lonardo?” I asked nervously. Lonardo chuckled. “I’ve been doing well. Just dropping the boys off here and there” he said. “Can I get you anything to drink Jane?” he asked, as soon I took my seat on one of the sun deck chairs. I shook my head. “I’m alright thanks” I said, with a smile. Lonardo nodded and headed back to the house.

As soon as Lonardo was out of sight, I started pacing around the pool side. I was nervous and couldn’t sit still. I was nervous about what Harry would say to me when he came back. I looked at the ring Harry had given to me, when he asked me to be his girlfriend. Is it going to be over tonight?

Harry’s POV

As Andy our bodyguard, drove us back to the house, I thought about what I was going to say to Jane. I looked at my hand, and focused on the ring I had been wearing ever since I asked Jane to be my girlfriend. I removed it from my finger and gazed at it.

“You’re thinking of breaking up with her are you?” a voice piped up. I didn’t have to turn around to see who it was, I knew it was Liam. “No. I want to listen to what she has to say first” I said.  “Jane doesn’t seem like the type that would cheat on me right?” I asked Liam slowly. He shook his head. “She seems genuine. You’re doing the right thing Harry” he said. “C’mon, we’re home now” he said, as Andy pulled up to the house. Zayn, Louis, and Niall went into the house first and headed upstairs to their bedrooms as they were knackered over today’s rehearsals. Liam stayed with me in the kitchen for a while as he made his dinner. I glanced out the kitchen window and saw Jane pacing around the pool side. I sighed deeply and leaned against the kitchen counter.

“Relax Harry” Liam said smiling. “You might want to bring a jacket or something along Harry” Liam said, “I think she’s getting cold” I whirled around and looked outside the window. Sure enough, Jane was rubbing her hands now. I nodded and went to the closet and grabbed a blanket before heading out to the pool side.

Jane was sitting on the sun deck chair when I reached her; and her back was to me so she didn’t see me coming at her. I threw the blanket over her as I sat next to her. “Harry!” she said with a surprised look on her pretty face. I nodded and managed a small smile. “Hi Jane” I said slowly. She turned to me slowly and took my hand. I was confused and was about to say something when she closed my hand back and pushed it towards me.

I opened my hand and was shocked when I saw her ring. I held her by the shoulders. “Are you breaking up with me?” I asked. She shook her head. “I don’t want to, but I know you would want to-” she started to say, but I cut her off. “Don’t tell me what I would want to, or wouldn’t want to” I said sharply. She closed her mouth with her hand and looked away. I groaned. I reached out and put my hand on her shoulder. She turned around slightly. “You didn’t kiss him back right?” I asked her slowly. I hadn’t been sure, even though I had told the others a different story. “No, I didn’t” she said.  “He caught me by surprise Harry. I was crying and upset with the sudden news of him going to New York and –” she continued to say, but I shut her up by drawing her close to me and kissed her lips. She was shocked at first, but she kissed back.
