Taegan’s POV.

*Chemistry class*

Mr. Webb: And so.. If you..

I scanned the classroom again, still no sign of Jane. (Where is she? She has never skipped a class, I thought) She couldn’t possibly be in trouble. Phillip Carson suddenly came to mind.  (No! It couldn’t possibly him. He’s horrid at times, but I knew he wouldn’t hurt her).

Again, I found myself flashing back to the past.

*At the beach*

Me: Heads up Jane! (I called out as I passed the volleyball to her).

Jane: *smacks ball down over the net* *smiles*

Me: Nice shot! Now you’re getting the hang of it. *smiling at her*

Jane: Well, I have a pretty awesome coach. *sticks her tongue out at me*

Me: *laugh* (Retrives ball). *hits ball back to her*

Jane: *takes a few steps back and hits it back to me*

We played for another hour before taking a break. Jane took out a few sandwiches from her backpack and gave one to me.

Jane: *hands me sandwich* Sorry its not much. I haven’t worked out the stove yet at the Browns.

Me: *takes sandwich* Awh, its alright. I love sandwiches!

Jane: But, I did managed to get Mrs Brown to bake us a little treat. *smiles knowingly*

Me: *eyes wide* You dont mean...

Jane: ‘Yes, I do!,’ *grabs a bag and shows it to me*

Me: ‘Her famous chocolate chip cookies!’, I exclaimed.

I was about to have a cookie when Jane swatted my hand.

Me: Ow! Hey, I thought you were going to share it! *look at her sulkily*

Jane: *laughs* I will. Finish your sandwich first. *tucks it away into her bag*

Me: *groan* Okay Mom. *laugh*

I darted away as she threw the volleyball at me.

Me: I shouldn’t have taught you that move. That’s an Anderson secret move you know. Passed from one generation to another. *I looked at her with a stern face*

Jane: Sure it is. *laughs*

Me: (Darn. I can’t trick her anymore) *sigh* Ok, you caught me. *laugh*

I sit next to her and had my sandwich and looked at the sea, then at Jane. She had already finished her sandwich and was now lying next to me sun tan.

Me: You know (I began slowly) No offence, but why are you trying to get a sun tan? Aren’t you already like, tanned?

Jane: *pinches me*

Me: Ow! *rubbing my leg*

Jane: *gets up and looks at me* You know, I’m still hungry. I think I’ll have the cookies now. *grabs her bag and takes out the bag of cookies*
