FIFTEEN

To Serve And Protect

My eyes opened slightly and I looked up to see a large figure walking right above me. I quickly rolled out of the way of his feet and I started to sit myself up. As I did, I looked and Optimum lying onto of the white SUV. In it was Tessa. I had to get them both out of there.

"Hang on, guys.." I whispered before I got up slowly. I hissed in pain as I looked down and saw a bloody scab on my knee and side. Wait..

I looked down at myself and saw that I was back to 9 year old me. Oh, no.

That means..that explosion slipped my powers away. I didn't know if this was just permanent or if it was temporary. But, either way, I had to get to them. Think, Lordes. Think.

"I feel sorry for you, Prime. You protect a world that fears and hate you. It's pathetic." The large bot said as my blood boiled. It was bots like him who caused the fear to all of us. It was bots like him who started this crap!

"Optimus!" The bot looked down as I ran past him and stood in front of Optimus. "I won't let you hurt him!"

"Heh. This is interesting. You protecting this human, who sooner or later will fear you. It makes you look weak." This bot was starting to really tick me off. I glared up at him, my heart raced with anger. I was furious!

I was so angry, I couldn't even speak! But it was too late to speak now anyway. The bot grabbed me and a drone flew above Optimus and Tessa in the SUV. A net immediately went over them.

"Let me go!" I thrashed and kicked, trying to get free from the not, but his grip only got stronger.

"I said..LET ME GO!" A blast went off and I looked down at myself to realize that I was back to the other form. YES! Finally! I blasted at the bot, he shielded himself, but I knew some were affecting him. Before I could make another move, he backhanded me. Hard. I went crashing hard to the ground. My sight started to look blurry when I held my head. I could Optimus shouting something but I didn't know what. My ears were ringing.

But I did hear something before I blacked out.

Lockdown.

(Okay really quick author's note. So you notice how I used language when she's a teen and no language when she's a little girl. Okay, Lordes has a different mindset as a teen than when she does as a little girl. So she'll think like a teen when she is and as a little girl when she is one. That's all!)

"Lordes. Can you hear me?" I heard. I tried to open my eyes but they stung when I did. Finally after a minute or two, my eyes fully opened and I saw Cade and Shane hovered over me.

"Guys? What hap-Wait, where's Optimus? And Tessa? And Alice? Where's Alice?!" I asked frantically as I looked around. "It's okay! It's okay! She's over there!"

I looked over and saw Alice standing in the field looking up at the sky.

"And Optimus? Tessa?" Cade looked away, standing up immediately before slowly walking away, leaving me confused. I looked over to where the SUV and Optimus was. My heart shattered as I saw that they were no longer there and I hung my head in shame.

If I had been stronger, I could have saved them. Now they're gone.

"I need to go after them." I said as I stood up quickly.

"What? No! We need to get the other Autobots!"

"And we will, Shane! I'm saying we're not. It's just...I brought them into this, Optimus kept telling me I had to get Tessa out of there. I disobeyed that and it cost Optimus and Tessa being captured. I should have just did what he said then go after whoever that thing was! And I didn't! Now look where that got me." I exclaimed as I felt a tear slid from my eyes.

Alice must have heard me because I looked over and saw her approach. Her bright sea blue eyes glistened in sadness. She placed a hand on my shoulder before she spoke.

"It's...not your fault. There was nothing..you could have done. Optimus was willing to risk his life for you, for Tessa, for all of us. You shouldn't be so...hard on yourself." Alice said slowly as I looked to the air. I knew what Alice meant, but Optimus did everything to protect me before I even met Cade and the others. I tried to do something in return and I screwed it up. So now I had to fix it.

"I get what you mean, Alice, but..I'm still going after them." I said before I started walking away. I got about 5 step a away from them before I felt something freeze me. I struggled trying to break myself from it. I was stuck in place and I didn't know what it was that was holding me back.

"I can't..let you go by yourself, Lordes." I heard as I looked out the corner of my eye and saw Alice approach me.

"P-P-Pl-l.."

"We'll go after them. But you have to let me go with you." Alice pleaded slightly as I was unfroze and I looked at her in disbelief.

"Wha-Wha-What the hell was that?" I asked breathlessly as she looked at the ground.

"KSI. They experimented on me. Used me as a lab project and gave me these freakish powers." She explained as I glared at the ground.

"Okay. Well, you guys regroup with the others. I'm going to go find that ship." Alice raised an eyebrow before I raised my hands in surrender.

"I'm not going to go on ahead. I'm just going to find the ship."

"You better, cheeseball." Alice said as we giggled. Alice always called me cheeseball because I use to have light auburn hair that almost fit the color of a cheese ball. Still works every time.

"I can't make promises. But I'll try too." And with that, I flew off. In the direction where I knew the ship went.
