I just wanna run

After Optimus, Tessa, and I got the clothes we needed, we went to meet back up with Cade and the others. Optimus had held my hand the entire time like my dad uses to do when it was a crowd and we needed to stick together. I didn't mind at all, but it felt weird. Maybe because I'm so used to my dad doing it. I don't know.

We found Cade and Bumblebee in the area with survival gear and saw them looking at binoculars.

"Find anything?" Tessa asked as we approached. "Yeah. We found these but I don't know how we're going to sneak these when there are literally dozens of cameras everywhere we turn."

I looked around before I dropped my backpack. I unzipped it as I saw Grimlock and Strafe going at it.

"Hey, hey." She whispered as they immediately stopped roughhousing. "Strafe, think you help me out a bit?"

The baby Pteranodon cooed softly before I looked at the cameras.

"Bad people are watching us through those cameras. And you know you don't want anything to happen to us, right?" The Pteranodon looked at the cameras and stared. It was a moment later when all of a sudden, he said:

We're clear of the bad people.

My eyebrows raised in impression as I smiled and patted his tiny little head.

"Good job, Strafe."

I zipped my backpack back up before I nodded. Cade then began to grab several boxes of binoculars and batteries for the KSI drone he got from Cemetery Wind. I had walked away for a split second to check our surroundings but bumped into someone as I did.

"Lordes?" I looked up and saw a familiar face. "Miss Dotts?"

The young woman smiled down on me before I wrapped my arms around her waist. Miss Dotts was my kindergarten teacher before she transferred to another district. What the heck was she doing all the way out here in Arkansas?

"What are you doing here, Lordes? You're never alone by yourself without your dad." She said as I looked around.

'Optimus, help please!' I shouted in my head as I looked back at Miss Dotts.

"Um..I am here with my dad, he's just...uh..." I couldn't respond because I could tell by the way she's looking at me that she didn't believe a word. I sighed before I gave in.

"Miss Dotts. See the thing is...um..." Before I could finish, I looked past Miss Dotts to see a familiar face. It was that Cemetery Wind guy. James Savoy. "Miss Dotts, I need you to come with me. Please."

"Wh-"

"Hey! Stop right there!" Savoy shouted as I looked back at him. "Run!" I grabbed Miss Dotts' hand and ran towards the aisle where Cade and everyone else was.

"RUN! GO!" I shouted the moment I turned the corner. As if they got the memo, everyone began to scatter. Optimus, Crosshairs, Tessa, Miss Dotts and I ran the left direction while Cade, Drift, Hound, Shane, and Bumblebee went the other way.

"What's going on?! Why is that man after you?!" Miss Dotts exclaimed as we made our way towards the entrance. "Seen Transformers, parents are dead, I'm a runaway! Yep, that pretty much sums it down!" I shouted back before we came to a stop. Standing in front of us was a group of Cemetery Wind soldiers with their guns aimed at us.

These guys just never quit, do they?

"Lordes Aubree, put your hands in the air and get down on the ground now!" One of them shouted as I scoffed softly.

"This is the best you can do, Savoy? This is all you got?!" I exclaimed as I felt something surge. Something in me. Optimus tried to pull me back but I only ripped my arm from him.

"You think you'll get away with killing my parents?! MY EVERYTHING?!" I shouted at them as I slowly approached them.

"Get ready to fire!" The soldier shouted as I heard safeties going off.

"Alright.." I whispered to myself. Then out of nowhere, the man said fire and bullets began to fly. There were screams and still more gunfire, but no one was hurt. Nothing happened. Well, actually something did happen.

Bullets had stopped mid air.
