Summertime Sadness

"I have to leave tomorrow, Lordes." Optimus said suddenly as I stopped drilling at his audio receptor. He was still in his holoform and I could tell he had a gloom look on his face.
"Optimus, I understand. I can stay here and keep sa-"
"No. I need you to come with me. You are not safe on your own and for all we know, Cemetery Wind might still be looking for you." He had a point. Cemetery Wind could look up more information on my Dad at any time and find that he had a child. Me.
But, there was something he hid from me that I think had something to do with the Autobots. He wouldn't tell me when I asked, only saying 'you'll find out soon.'
I needed to go back.
"Optimus, I need to go back to my home. There was something there that my dad wanted me to have or see that could be related to you guys and got killed for it too. I have to." I said as I drilled the last screw. "I know you don't agree with this, Optimus, but it's like you said. You sworn to never kill humans, but they've hurt you guys so badly that you're not having anymore of this. So let's go find out what my Dad left behind. For all we know, it could be something that can help us stop Cemetery Wind for good."
Optimus looked like he was thinking it over. I waited for a moment before he sighed softly and met my eyes.
"You know, you got a lot of your father in you, Lordes. He was just as adventurous as you are. And risky. If you feel a need to go back there, I will go with you. But if any trouble stirs, we're leaving." Optimus said as I nodded and hopped down from the ladder he found last night.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get there before it gets dark."
-
It was hard coming back to the place, that called home, in ruins and burn to ashes. I wanted to shed tears at the sight. All my childhood memories, my parents, my home, had gone up in flames.
Even though I told Optimus I wanted to check my dad's truck, I wanted to look through the debris for their bodies. I searched and searched until I found them. I screamed when I saw it and fell to my knees. My hands shakily went to my mouth to prevent myself from sobbing loudly. Their bones were a bright white that it wasn't hard to miss.
"Lordes! What's wron-?" Optimus began as he came over, but he must have seen the bones because then he wrapped an arm around me. "I'm sorry, Lordes."
"And he never got to say goodbye to me. He never got to say goodbye to his little girl." I cracked out as I cried into Optimus' shoulder. It was like this for a bit before I caught something in my sight. I squinted my eyes as I saw something under the debris.
"Hold on." Lordes said as she slowly pulled away and lifted the burnt board from the ground. I cried as I picked up the stones that were for my parents. The Zodiac stones. I walked over to Optimus, stumbling slightly as I passed more debris.
"These were for my parents." Optimus' eyes went wide when he saw them before he shared a look with me. "Where did you find these?"
"I..find them in the Caverns two days ago on a field trip. Why?" I asked as he held out his hand. I gave him the stones before he examined them closely.
"Lordes, these are not regular stones. These are Energon crystals. They were very rare back on Cybertron. But what are they do here on Earth?" Optimus asked but mumbled the last part. I looked around for my dad's pickup and spot it untouched near the storage shack.
"Optimus, I found it!" I exclaimed as I ran towards the grey 1993 Silverado. Optimus followed close behind me as I went to the back climbed in the truck. There was a large object in the truck that was covered by a sheet and it was LARGE. Because curiosity consumed me, I grabbed the sheet and began to pull it off the object.
"Optimus, can you help me out here?!"
