Alexandra's POV

I went out for a fag once we checked out only to realise that it's the last one left, I sighed, standing beside Rics car while he was setting up the GPS inside.

"something wrong?" he popped his head out for the car obviously hearing me.

Shepishly I showed him the empty packet of cigarettes. Bitting my lip I wasn't sure if he would agree to buying me another one since obviously they wouldn't sell me one since I'm underage. It's one thing letting me continue smoking and it'd another buying it for me. But regardless Ric got out of the car and walked towards the B&B.

"it's a Bad habit Al." was all he said. I was done smoking once he got back and handed me the new packet. "don't expect me to do this the whole time" he warned lightly.

I nodded in understanding "thanks" before we both climbed into the car and continued on our journey to the small town of Mystic Falls that was supposed to be my new home.

The car ride was more bareable this time, I laughed and joked around with Ric while we both sang our lungs out. Of course we stopped for food and coffee and stuff every so often. Ric even filled me in a bit on the way, he was the history teacher in the school he has already enrolled me into. His girlfriends name is Jenna, she's the aunt of Elena and Jeremy two tennagers that she's taking care of since their parents died.

We got home around 11pm, we carried everything into the apartment and Ric showed me the spare bedroom.

"I know it's not much..." Ric trailed off "but you can do whatever you want with the room, it's yours. We can go out shopping for stuff aswel if you need anything. I painted it recently for you but wasn't sure what colours you wanted"

"Ric. Seriously its fine, it's enough I don't need a mansion" I assured as I looked around the room.

It was small, the walls were freshly painted, two a soft grey colour and the other two a pastel blue. It had a single bed, bedside table, a desk with a mirror and a wardrobe. The window was quiet big with a wide windowsill. It was cosy and I genuinely didn't mind it.

Rics phone rang "okay well, I'll let you get settled in so" he left to answer it. A while later once I got changed for bed he knocked and came back in. "em Al? Jenna called and we haven't seen each other in 4 days now so she wanted me to come over for a while, you won't mind? I'll stay if you want me to" he asked awkwardly.

"it's fine Ric, I'm going to bed now anyway, head over to your girlfriend" I teased.

Ric just shook his head at me and was about to leave when he turned back around. "oh I nearly forgot, Jenna is really excited to see you and introduce you to Elena and Jeremy so if you're up for it tomorrow we could head over"

"yeah that's fine" I smiled a bit overwhelmed, not even here for 24hrs and I'll already be meeting new people I'm supposed to be nice to.

He nodded and left but not before saying goodnight. I couldn't really sleep so I walked around and started organising everything. Going into the kitchen I realised Ric isn't much of a chef. His press was filled with an impressive amount of instant noodles. Not that I was complaining as I fished out a chicken flavoured one and sat down on the window sill in my room with the hot bowl in my arms, eating my late night snack before sleep finally came.

The next morning Ric came in while I was already having my coffee, "well you had fun anyway" I teased.

His cheeks heated up quickly with a slight blush before he stole my cup of coffee and rolled his eyes at me. "You're funny."

"I know I try" I winked "so we heading over the now or...?" Ric nodded still drinking my coffee. "I'll be outside" I showed him the box in my hand and headed out the door.
