Alexandra's POV
I woke up feeling a small bit nervous, I didn't get a 'goodnight' text from elijah or a text from him at since the Dinner Party but I told myself to not worry, he was a grown man, he had things to do in life I just couldn't understand why he didn't let me know. Did he expect me to wait around? Keep me in the dark and I'll hop back into his arms when he decides to return?
Today was my first day back at school, Alaric drove me in with him, showed me where the office is to get my locker and timetable sorted while he left to go to his classroom and talk to Elena or something. Not knowing anyone kind of sucked, and of course everyone recognised my surname and immediately linking me to their history teacher. One student even rudely asked Alaric in History if I was his daughter, of course he answered politely that I was his Older brothers daughter, therefore his niece however he died and now I'm in his care. From then on everyone seemed to pity me.
The guy that asked Ric rudely approached me after history class, "Hey I'm Hunter, I'm sorry I blurted that out and embrasded you, I didn't know and now I feel like a dick" he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
I offered him a slight smile "it's okay, it saves me from telling everyone myself really" I shrugged.
"hey look want to spend lunch with me?" he suddenly asked.
"em.. Actually ill be going out for a fag at lunch" I smiled apologetically.
"yeah sure, I can come with you and show you were the smoking spot is" he offered.
I didn't want to be rude and tell him I already know so I nodded "yeah that would be great, thanks."
He grinned back at me and led the way, there was already quiet a few emos and some cool or hip teenagers around, some were even smoking joints. We found an empty bench nearby, I didn't see Jer here even though I thought I would. I know he told me he's been spending more time with Bonnie lately so that must be where he is.
Hunter and I chatted aimlessly while I smoked, he tried but wasn't my type at all, he was a jock, he played football with the lads and I wasn't exactly the cheerleader type. When we went back in I was delighted when Elena came up to me.
"Hey Alex are you coming to sit down, I wasn't to finally introduce you to Caroline and Bonnie" she smiled at Hunter but didn't otherwise acknowledge him.
"Sure I'd love to" I smiled as I told Hunter I'd catch up with him later.
Elena led me to a table in the cafeteria where a blonde, pale typically mean girl looking girl sat next to a dark skinned girl with dark hair and eyes, they looked friendly enough. Elena and I sat across from them. "Guys this is Alex, Alarics Niece." Elena announced
Both of them smiled at me, the blonde one introduced herself as Caroline while the Dark haired one was Bonnie. "Hey, I'm glad to meet some new people around, especially girls I've been around too much testosterone lately"
They laughed with me totally agreeing, we chatted while eating out food until Caroline said "Hey girls, I think it would be great if you joined us for a slumber party at Elenas tonight?"
I must've looked unsure because Elena added "yeah we can all confine in each other about our love life's, like what's happened with you and Elijah at the moment? Or maybe Hunter is a thing now?" Elena smiled while Bonnie nodded.
I internally groaned, nothing was happening between and Elijah because he left me out in the cold.
"wait... You mean to say, you haven't been here one day and Hunter is after you already?" Caroline sounded excited.
