Alexandra's POV

I left to go to the Bathroom while Jenna and Andie were doing the finishing touches in the dining room. Leaving the bathroom my heart stopped as I saw Elijah waiting for me, he was leaning against the wall. Seeing me come out he pushed away from it and stepped closer to me.

"I wished to speak with you tonight" he announced

"so waiting for me creepily to give me a heart attack when I leave the bathroom was the way to do it?" I asked raising an eyebrow at him.

He chuckled "I apologise that was not my intention"

"then what was your intention? " isighed getting annoyed.

"I was under the impression we were friends?" he asked confused.

"and I decided to keep a bit of distance between us, you know so we can remain friends" I said in an obvious tone.

"I understsnd" he nodded thoughtfully before taking another step closer " however unfortunately I don't think I will be able to stay away, seeing you tonight, It takes all my free will to control myself Alexandra." his voice was low and husky. He leaned in to whisper into my ear while my heart was going mental. "I don't think I can stay away" his lips brushed against my ear and my breath hitched.

We stared into each others eyes, the tension was thick in the air, I was about to fuck all my rational thoughts off a bridge and fuck him there and then, letting him have whatever he wanted from me, relationship or no relationship, his face inched towards mine ever so slightly.

"Dinner is ready!" came Andies voice from down the hall.

This made me come to my senses and I side stepped Elijah, making my way towards the Dining room not even sparing him a glace. Jenna and Andie served the dinner while I poured everyone some wine before sitting down myself. Damon sat at the head of the table, to his right sat Jenna, then Andie and John. To his left sat Elijah, me and Alaric.

After some small talk jenna decided to tease Damon a bit "I hate to break it to you but according to Elijah, your family is so not a founder of this town." she smirked at him

"oh do tell" Damon faked interest.

"as I mentioned to Jenna Earlier" elijah began explaining, glancing at me it was as if he was trying to make me jealous over all the time him and Jenna spent together, as if I would get jealous over my future aunt, she was smitted to Ric not to mention she would kill anyone who stood in the way of her pushing me and Eljiah closer. "a Faction of settlers migrated from Salem after the witch trials in the 1690s" he tone was wise and factual "over the next hundred years they developed this community where they could feel safe from persecution"

I admired how his voice demanded immediate attention and focus, it was the type of tone a good school teacher would have.

"hmm because they were witches" jenna added, obviously not believing.

I sniggered "was Harry Potter agus ith them too yeah, maybe they set up hogwarts here somewhere" Jenna and I shared an amused glace.

"yeah but there's no tangible proof, there were witches in Salem." Andie inputted.

"Andies a journalist, big on facts" Damon boasted, winking at his play thing.

"Well the lore says that there was this wave of anti-witch hysteria. It broke out in the neighbouring settlement, so these witches were rounded up, they were tied to stakes in a field together and uh burned" Eljiah continued with his story he seemed to wholeheartedly believe it aswel, he studied my face and he took an sip of his wine. "some say you could hear the screams from Miles around us, they were consumed by the fire, could you pass the..." he said casually and mentioned towards salt.
