chap 6- the growing closeness

Swara was sitting with sanskar in his cabin. She was observing keenly how he treats his patients. Suddenly his cell rang. He signed swara to check the patient while he walked out. Swara came near the patient. He was a young male of about 30 years of age. Swara turned around to look for stethoscope but was unaware of his evil eyes falling on her. He was staring at her with evil intentions. He stood up and within a blink of eye closed swara's mouth and held swara's hands tightly. Swara was not ready for the attack. Her eyes widened. Before she could react she found his lips trying to reach her ears. She tried to struggle but the grip was too hard for her. Her screams were muffled. The man was trying to get her out from the backdoor and she was struggling hard not to. Tears were brimming down her eyes. Suddenly she felt a searing pain in her head. Man had hit her with something. Her eyes closed. Her head became heavy. Her body stopped to struggle.
Man lifted her in his arms and moved towards backdoor but someone held his coller. And next moment a tight punch fell on his face. It was sanskar whose eyes were burning fire. Man almost threw swara on the floor and jumped out of the open window.
Sanskar: security....
He then ran towards swara who was lying unconscious on the floor. The staff came inside the cabin. Sanskar took swara in her arms and made her sit on the chair. Her eyes were closed. Her wrist was bruised. Sanskar took her face in his palms. The concern was not hidden from anyone.
Sanskar: swara ... wake up.. wake up..
He shook her face gently. She didn't. Sanskar: water... pani lao koi ...
Nurse gave a glass ful of water to sanskar. Sanskar put a few drops of water on her eyes. Her eyes flinched. She slowly tried to open her eyes. But pain in her head was heavy. She again closed her eyes.
Sanskar: swara... dr swara... you fine?
Suddenly everyone kept quite. Sanskar looked in the direction and found dp standing there.
Sanskar: papa ... .
Dp looked at swara. She was half unconscious.
Dp: dr swara...
Swara: yes sir...
She tried to open her eyes.
Dp: take rest. Dont worry.. we are with you.
Swara's eyes closed again.
Dp: sanskar... take her to her home.
Sanskar nodded.
Dp: but first check her properly. Rest of all back to work. The culprit will be caught soon.
Everyone left the cabin except sanskar. He came near swara. He touched her hair and tried to see the injury. He untied her hair. For the first time he was seeing her in completely open hair. He stared at her for a moment. He touched her head and suddenly a moan escaped from her lips.
Sanskar looked. There was a small bruise on her scalp. He gently caressed her hair. He didnt know why but his heart was aching seeing her in this condition. He held her wrist. He checked her pulse. It was slow. Suddenly she again flinched.
Sanskar: shh... swara... everything is fine..
She slowly opened her eyes.
Swara: he.... he tried...
Sanskar kept a finger on her lips.
Sanskar: you are safe... no need to worry. Chalo.. lets go home.
Swara nodded. He put her one hand around his neck and held her shoulder tightly. He made her sit in his car. He started to drive. Swara's eyes were closed.
Sanskar: dr swara ...
Swara didnt reply. She was again drifted off in her sleep. Sanskar tucked a flick away from her face. He stopped the car in front of her home. He took swara in his arms. He made her lie on her bed and covered her with a comforter. He took a look at her. Her cute nose, her eyes, her lips, her long hair, everything was perfect.
She is damn pretty was his thought. But he brushed off the thought. He touched her forehead. Swara didnt flinched. She was in a deep slumber. Suddenly someone came inside.
Sanskar: ragini...
Ragini was standing in a dishelved state. Her worry was visible.
Ragini: laksh told me everything. Is she fine?
Sanskar nodded. Ragini came near her.
Ragini: why god make only good people suffer!
Sanskar was confused at ragini's words. He took a look of the house. It was luxary. He looked at the number of servants. She was leading a good life. Then how on earth could she suffer. Then he remembered her voice... that had a mix of pain. He wanted to ask ragini but suddenly he saw swara opening her eyes.
Sanskar: dr swara... you... you fine?
His voice had a concern which was not hidden from ragini.
Swara nodded.
Swara: thx a lot sir... if you would have not been there then god knows what would have happened!
Sanskar wanted to stop her in between but didnt know how to. So he just smiled.
Sanskar: ragini.... medicines are there on the table. Make her eat something and then give it to her. And you dr swara.. you are on a leave for two days.
Swara smiled. Sanskar all of a sudden was feeling a butterfly roaming in her abdomen.
