chap 23- the wedding

It was the evening of swasan marriage. Swara was standing in her wedding attire. Green coloured lehanga paired with red dupatta covering her head. Golden jwellery complimenting her golden complexion. But there was a lack of the beautiful smile a bride should have. A flashback was running in front of her eyes.

Swara was standing in a temple with laksh by her side. All dressed in bridal lehanga she was looking beautiful.
Swara: laksh... why has sahil not come yet? Kavya has also not arrived. Who delays this much on her bestie's wedding?
Suddenly a car stopped from which sahil stepped down with kavya by his side. A smile ran over swara's face. But a frown appeared on laksh's forehead. He was sensing something wrong.
Sahil: are swara ... what are you doing here?
Swara: come on sahil.. dont joke. It's our marriage.
But all of a sudden a slap fell over swara's face. Before she could be ready another slap was over her face. It was kavya.
Laksh held swara in time.
Laksh: kavya sharma.... have you gone mad?
Swara was taken aback by this slap.
Kavya: mad... yes i was mad that i trusted this cheater. You ... you lier... you said that i stole your notes... it is because of you that i get passed in exams. Chalo swara... yahA tak toh theek tha ... but i am charecterless. Haa..
Swara was shocked at these words. She was at the lack of words. Never in her worst dreams she had thought of kavya thinking these things.
Laksh: what are you saying... kavya you know well that swara considers you as a sister.
Kavya: shut up you. You both think that your secret relationship will remain hiding. Sahil has told me about you both. Swara... sahil loves you this much and you made relations with your so called friend laksh....
Swara: kavya... it's all lie... sahil....
She looked at sahil.
Swara: sahil... i have cleared your doubts many times. Please trust me. It's nothing like that.
She folded her hands in front of sahil.
Sahil: i dont want to say anything. I am not gonna marry you. You cheap girl... the girl who can fall so low. You know... all fault is yours... only yours. You could never made me yours. And when your needs didnt satisfy.. you went to this laksh. All fault is yours... only yours.
Swara fell down on the floor. Laksh held sahil's coller.
Laksh: she is such a pious girl sahil. Dont do this to her. You know as well... she is pregnant with your child.
Sahil: how can you be so sure that the child is mine and not yours.
Laksh left the coller. He folded his hands.
Laksh: sahil... i can swear on everyone... swara is like a sister to me. Dont do this.. she will die.
Sahil: then better she dies...
He looked at swara staring blankly at him. Kavya came closer to her.
Kavya: i hate you. Sahil was always right. It was all your fault.
Swara looked at the retreating figure of sahil and kavya. And then all blank.

A panic appeared on swara's face. Her palms became sweaty. Suddenly a knock happened. It was laksh. She tried to smile seeing him.
Swara: are.. you here.
Laksh: panic..
Swara looked at floor.
Laksh: i knew you would.
He held her by her shoulders.
Laksh: you are marrying sanskar who loves you truly. He wont leave.
Swara looked at laksh.
Swara: was all fault really mine?
Laksh carressed her face.
Laksh: no... it was never.
Swara took a deep breathe.
Swara: go and come dancing with barat. Your bestie is becoming your bhabhi today.
Laksh smiled.

Barat came. Bride was being called in mandap. Swara came out of her room just to find laksh standing with his friends holding a net decorated with flowers. Ragini was holding a plate with varmala in it.
Laksh: why are you staring? Bride comes to mandap while her brother holds the foolo ki chadar na. So.. am i not your brother?
A tear rolled down swara's eyes.
Laksh: come.. otherwise my brother will pull my ear if any delay happens.

Sanskar's eyes looked at swara on the stairs. He smiled finally seeing his love.

swara blushed a little feeling his gaze over her.

Sanskar bent down his head for varmala. Swara smiled a little. She too bent her head. Both smiled seeing each other finally became theirs.

JEEVANSATHI HUM
DIYA AUR BATI HUM.

All the rituals were taking place. There was dancing and singing everywhere. The couple was smiling seeing each other.

Panditji: you both are finally married.
Sanskar looked at swara whose sindoor fell over her nose. Ap and dp blessed them.
Sanskar stood up just to find his shoes missing. He looked at ragini.
Ragini: what?
Sanskar: shoes?
Ragini: i am wearing mine.
Swara giggled a little.
Sanskar: now tell me what do you want?
Ragini giggled.
Sanskar: are...
Dp put hand on his shoulder.
Dp: beta... it's not ragini. It's your lucky.
Laksh scratched his head.
Sanskar: tu meri side hai ya nahi?
Laksh: no....
Sanskar: laksh k bachhe...
Laksh: aapke bad hi honge...
He suddenly bite his tongue. Swara looked devilishly at laksh. Ragini pinched him hard.
Laksh: bhaiya... i want one thing.
Sanskar: what?
Laksh: woh mjhe sochna padega.
Swara placed her head on her forehead. Suddenly ragini snatched shoes from him and gave it to sanskar.
Ragini: let him stay here only.
Everybody started to laugh.

All finally reached mm. Swara was finally sitting on bed in sanskar's room. She looked at flowers welcoming her to her new life. Her trance was broken by clicking of metal. It was sanskar locking the door of the room. He looked at her and smiled. She too smiled back. He came closer to her.
Sanskar: hello mrs swara sanskar maheshwari.
Swara blushed making sanskar skipping his heart beats.
Sanskar: swara...
She looked at sanskar. Her gaze was so intense that sanskar forgot what he wanted to eay. There was an innocence in her eyes. There was a piousness on her face.
Swara: what?
Sanskar just nodded his head. He kissed her forehead lightly and engulfed her in a loving embrace.
Their embrace was broken by sanskar's ringtone.
Sanskar: yes.. emergency... this time.
He cancelled the call and looked at swara. She smiled.
Sanskar: i wish... i wish i could say no.
Swara: but you should not. No issues. We have our whole life in front of us. And with you every night will be more special.
Sanskar did not want to go. But one side his duty was calling. He carresed her face.
Sanskar: i will try to come as early as possible.
Swara nodded. He changed into normal clothes and came outside. He sat in his car and drove to the hospital. Before he could enter, his way was blocked by two people. They were shekhar and janki.
Sanskar: what are you people doing here?
