I think of
you in ways
that are subconsciously
surreal
And daydreams that come
alive whenever I picture you
like if you were floating in an endless
sea of my conscious
I almost forgot what you were like
Some sort of mystery trapped in a machine
so inexplicably captivating
and yet I could only see the surface
but finding your hidden layers
was always the greater mystery
Every now and then I feel consumed
by every little instance of you
and it always brings back
a familiar sensation
I wonder why I let you in
unable to let go and left
with only simple reminders
stored away in a vast void
plaguing my thoughts
I only ever wanted
to have it all again
despite the pain
and realization of you
withering away farther
than I could reach
You meant more to me
than I anticipated and I could
only sink further into your trenches
but now I think I can see
you clearly in my my mind
an image I hold onto
as though I have no
recollection of your beauty
yet its forever ingrained in me
and it never fails to
subside from my distorted reality
because in the midst of all this chaos
I feel the sadness disappear
Your memory like a faithful companion
I could never lose sight of
as much as I move on
I won't ever lose grasp
of your love
