There's a man I know
I know him quite well
he dwells inside of me
for we are one in the same
and he understands
my desire to become himThis man he is angry
his patience wearing thin
he wants to walk
amongst other men like him
for he did not have the privilege
to experience boyhoodThis man has been locked up
for far too long
he cannot embrace his
natural identity
he feels as though he is a fraud
for who he is on the outside
does not reflect the man
he envisions himself to beThis man he is dominated
by the sense of inadequacy
for no matter what he does
to fix his self perception
he may never evolve
from his physical
state of beingThis man he is a dreamer
wanting always wanting
to embrace his masculinity
for in the past he played the fool
but now he must come to terms
and set aside his denials
no longer should he pretend
for anybody's sake
he is a man both in and outThere's a man I know
I know him quite well
he dwells inside of me
for we are one in the same.
