It turns out that Alec and Nick didn't just get rooms here. No, they got a whole cabin for the four of us. It has two bedrooms as well as a kitchen and a living room. I think Shade was more excited about having a kitchen here than the fact that were staying in a cabin.
That's so typical of him.
They're sharing the one room that only has a single bed and Shade and I are going to be sharing the one that has two beds.
"So, chocolate chip, are you going to need any help skiing tomorrow, when we go?" Alec asked, looking at me as he sat down next to Nick. "I know that Nick and Shade know how already, but I don't know if you do or not."
Both Nick and Shade started laughing as I tried not to.
I forgot, we never did tell him.
"No, I'm not going to need any help." I chuckled. "In fact, I'll probably be the one doing the helping."
"What do you mean?" he asked. "You think you're that good at skiing?"
"Oh, honey," Nick breathed out, trying to stop laughing. "She knows that she's that good."
"Exactly." I nodded, leaning into the soft couch more. "You see, back in my day, I was number one in all of the competitions that I was put is as a child. It probably helped that my mother was a skiing trainer for professional skiers before we moved."
"Oh," Alic uttered with his dark blue eyes wide open, causing Nick and Shade to start laughing again. "That, I did not know."
"Well," I grinned. "Now you do."
"So, what is the plan for tomorrow?" Shade asked, looking at his twin brother.
"Well, we decided that after we all eat breakfast, you and Rach can go into town tomorrow and get food for the rest of the time we're here," Nick responded. "We can go skiing at some point for however long we want to. Lunch. Arcade maybe than the sauna. Then we can eat dinner which we have reservations for a fancy restaurant."
"Yeah, it's a pretty chill day tomorrow," Alec said. "We are staying here for a while so there's not really much of a reason to rush everything in."
"That sounds good to me." I hummed.
"Good." Alec yawned. "I'm gonna head to bed now. I'm exhausted."
He got up and started heading to the room that he and Nick are sharing.
"I'm gonna head to bed too." Nick sighed, standing up. "Night you two."
"Night, Brother." Shade nodded.
"Night!" I called after the two of them.
"Hey, Shade?" I hummed, lying down on my bed.
"Yeah?" he replied, looking over at me.
"How long are we staying here again?" I asked.
"I believe until new years. So about two weeks or so." Shade answered.
"Alright." I hummed. "Thank you."
"Of course." he sighed contently. "I'm always happy to help you, Rach."
"I know." I murmured. "And I really appreciate it a lot."
"So, my turn to ask a question." Shade said.
"Okay." I giggled. "Shoot."
"Did you ever read what the necklace said?" he asked.
"Yes." I smiled, my face started to feel warm again. "I did."
"So..." Shade trailed off.
"So..." I mimicked.
"Rachel." he pouted, sitting up in his bed.
"Shade." I grinned, staring at the ceiling.
I bit my lip to stop from laughing.
I failed, though.
"Come here, you oaf." I laughed.
Shade hummed in question.
I sat up and faced him with my arms outstretched.
"Hug," I said. "I want a hug."
"Alright." he nodded, getting up and coming over to me.
His arms wrapped around me once he helped me stand up. I wrapped mine around his waist and looked up at him with a grin on my face.
One of his hands started gently petting my hair while his other stayed firmly wrapped around my waist as he looked at me warmly.
"Good night, Rachel Cookie," he whispered, kissing my forehead softly.
"Good night, Shade Night." I murmured, burying my face in his shoulder to hide my blush.
