"You're amazing at this!" Peter cheered, coming up to me. "Have you ever thought about going to the big competitions?"
"No," I shook my head. "This is just for a hobby, nothing else."
"But you're so good! It would be such a shame to let this talent go to waste." he groaned. "You could become one of the greats, with me by your side, of course."
"But..." I mumbled. "I don't, I don't want to."
"No but's," he frowned, glaring at me. "I've already signed you up for a competition that you will be in. No acceptions!"
"What?!" I gasped. "You signed me up for something that I told you I didn't want to do multiple times."
"Deal with it." he shrugged.
But I don't want to.
"Everything seems to be alright with them." the doctor said, looking at the ultrasound. "Has everything been okay ?"
I'm about 24 weeks pregnant now and going to the doctor for check-ups a lot more frequently.
"Yeah." I nodded. "Except for the lack of sleep, yeah."
"Lack of sleep?" Shade hummed from beside me. "You haven't told me about this."
"It's fine." I shrugged. "The babies seem to be more active at night."
"That can be quite common for some mothers." the doctor said. "It's nothing to worry about. It's a normal thing to happen."
Shade looked like he wanted to say something else, but he didn't.
"See, Shade," I smiled. "It's fine."
He's been out for about two months now and he hasn't done anything. So, I guess I could say that things have pretty much cooled down.
I'm allowed to be in my own room alone now.
Shade and I decided on changing rooms up and having my room be the nursery and me moving into his room.
"Let's go for a walk." Shade suggested.
"But Shade." I pouted. "It's hot out there."
"It will only be for a little bit," he responded. "You haven't really been out of the house besides going to and from work."
"Fine." I sighed. "Let's go."
"Yay!" he cheated, helping me up from the couch.
"So," I hummed as we walked to the front door. "What made you want to go for a walk?"
"What?" he hummed. "Can I not just want to go for a walk with my pregnant wife for no reason other than to walk."
I hummed sceptically in response.
"So, there's really no reason behind you wanting to go for a walk?" I asked.
"No," he grinned. "But, this is the first time that we're walking together as a married couple."
My face felt warm.
"Indeed it is." I hummed.
"You!" someone walking the opposite way shouted angrily.
They ran up to Shade and I stopped in front of us.
"You!" they repeated, pointing in my face.
"Umm, uhh," I mumbled. "Do I, do I know you?"
She seems to be in her thirties and extremely angry.
"You're the one who ruined my brother's life!" she shouted. "Aren't you?!"
Both Shade and I stayed motionless.
"Don't even try to deny it!" she heaved.
"I, umm, I don't know who you are talking about, ma'am." I murmured.
"Yes you do!" she exclaimed. "Stop lying!"
"Ma'am," Shade said. "Please calm down. Then, we can try to make sense of what you're talking about."
"Don't tell me to call down!" she screamed.
Who is this woman? Why is she so angry at me?
"Listen," he sighed. "I'm trying to tell you what to do. I'm just trying to make sure that this stays as civil as possible."
"Shade," I whispered. "She has a gun."
