"If you do this," my father gritted out. "Doth bother coming back here ever again."

What?!

"But, father," I started to say.

"No!" he angrily cut me off. "No daughter of mine is going to be living with three men. Especially if two of them are gay."

Good thing he didn't know about me living with Nick before this...

"We've already bought the house, and either way, I won't change my mind about this." I murmured quietly. "They're like family to me. They accept me for who I am instead of trapping me and trying to force me to be someone that I'm not."

This isn't going as I had hoped.

"Lies!" he shouted causing me to flinch and shake in fear. "All lies! They've blurred your vision."

I let out a nervous breath before knocking on the door.

I can't believe that I let them talk me into this.

My mother answered the door.

"Hi, mom," I mumbled, rubbing the back of my neck. "It's, uh, it's been a while, huh?"

She didn't respond, she just hugged me tightly.

After getting over the initial shock, I hugged her back.

"I missed you so much." she cried softly into my shoulder. "I'm so sorry. I should have stopped him when he kicked you out. I should have done something. I'm so sorry."

"I missed you too mom." I quietly murmured. "You have nothing to be sorry about. I'm the one who should be sorry. I haven't contacted you in four years."

"Come inside." she smiled softly, pulling me into the house. "We can talk about it over some tea."

"Alright," I whispered, looking around at the familiar decor and pictures.

They clearly haven't changed much in the house in four years.

"You can sit down on the sofa while I get the tea." my mother said before heading into the kitchen.

I did as she said and sat down.

So far, so good. Hopefully, everything else goes as smoothly as this.

"So, mother." I breathed out, setting the tea down on the coffee table.

"Yes, Rachel?" she hummed.

"I actually came here to tell you something quite important," I mumbled.

I took the sonogram out of my pocket and showed it to her.

"Mom, I'm pregnant," I uttered. "I'm having twins."

"Oh," she uttered, her eyes wide as she stared at the picture in complete shock. "Congratulations, sweetie."

That was a better reaction than expected.

"Shade is the father of them." I murmured, putting the sonogram back into my pocket.

"That boy you've always secretly had a crush on?" she wondered.

I nodded in response. "Yeah, that Shade."

She was about to say something else, but she was interrupted by none other than my infamous father walking into the room.

He glared at me.

"Hi, dad." I gulped nervously.

"What are you doing here?" he huffed.

I didn't answer, I just looked at the beige colored carpet.

"She was just telling me some wonderful news." my mother answered for me.

"And what is that?" he laughed mockingly. "Did you finally move out of the house, away from those three men?"

"No," I sighed. "I'm pregnant."

"I don't see a ring!" he shouted.

I flinched.

"Honey," mother laughed nervously, placing her hand on top of mine reassuringly. "Don't you remember with my pregnancies? My fingers swelled up so I was unable to wear my wedding ring."

I nodded along with my mother.

"Ye-yeah, I decided to leave it at home," I breathed out. "It's painful to wear it due to the pregnancy... that's why you don't see me wearing it right now."

"That was a pain." I sighed, leaning up against the bar in the kitchen. "Why did I let you two convince me to do that?"

At least I'll be able to talk to my mother again. That's a plus, I guess.

"It went that bad?" Alec hummed in question, handing me some kind of goop in a cup.

"Yeah. It started off good, but then turned into a disaster." I nodded. "What's in the cup?"

"It's a smoothie," he shrugged. "It has honey and peaches."

I skeptically stared at it for a moment longer before I started to drink it.

"So, what exactly happened?" Nick asked.

"My mother was the one who answered the door, my father wasn't home yet. We talked for a little bit before I told her and then my father came home." I sighed. "With her help, I told him, but he still got angry and kicked me out. I was able to give my mother my number before he realized it though."

Shade walked into the room.

"Hello, dearest." he grinned, kissing my forehead gently.

"Hello, beloved." I giggled.

"Have you eaten yet?" Shade asked.

"Not quite yet," I answered, lifting the cup up. "But Alec gave me this, uh, goopy smoothie thing."
