"We're back!" Shade called as we entered the cabin with the food.

No one answered. They probably went to the arcade or something while they were waiting for us.

We went into the kitchen and started putting the food away in their corresponding places.

"I doubt that either of them will be answering their phone anytime soon." Shade said. "So, what do you want to do while we wait for them."

"Hmm. I don't know. That's a good question." I hummed. "What do you want to do?"

I pushed myself up so that I was sitting up on the counter next to him. As I did so, my leg brushed up against his arm accidentally.

"We could uh..." he paused.

"We could what?" I giggled.

"Err... I umm, I don't know." he stuttered, looking away from me.

Is he blushing? Is he trying to hide his blush?

How cute.

"We could go to the arcade for a bit if you want," I suggested, shrugging.

I remember Alec and Nick say something about an Arcade here.

"Are you sure you'd be comfortable with that?" he asked, looking back at me. "I know how you're not fond of large crowds."

"Yeah, I'll be fine." I breathed out. "If you want to go, we can. If not we can figure something else out."

Shade moved so I was trapped on the counter by his arms which held onto my waist loosely and stared into my eyes.

"Are you positive that you want to go, Rachel?" he said, his expression more serious than I've ever seen it before.

I didn't answer, I just stared into his eyes which were intensely watching me, unable to look away.

"As long as I'm with you," I whispered. "I'll be just fine as long as I'm with you."

My hands found their way to Shade's shoulders.

"Rachel..." he started to say but was cut off by the door opening.

"Rach? Shade? Are you two back yet?" Nick called from the doorway.

"Y-yeah!" I called back. "We're back."

My mind keeps on going to what happened in the kitchen earlier today.

The boys are currently wearing dress pants and dress shirts, Shade has a vest on as well whereas I am wearing a sparkly, long black dress that's sleeveless and black heels.

We've all actually finished our meal so we're just sitting and talking with each other.

"So, what are the plans for tomorrow?" I asked, taking a sip of my water.

"Skiing, obviously," Alec replied. "Other than that, we have nothing planned."

"Aha." I nodded.

Alec and Nick shared a look with each other.

"So," Nick hummed. "There's actually a reason that we chose to go out tonight."

"And why is that, brother?" Shade asked.

"Well," he drew out. "Alec and I have been talking about it for a while and we decided it's time."

"Time for what?" I wondered.

"Time for us to adopt " Alec answered. "Since we live with you, we wanted your blessing for it. We won't be adopting babies, they'll be older kids to teens. We've done a lot of research on this and they're normally the least adopted because everyone wants the babies."

"We also want to foster kids too," Nick added.

"Aww, guys'," I cooed. "That's so sweet. I'm totally on board with this."

"I'd like to have some nieces and nephews." Shade shrugged. "Go for it."

"Well, that was an eventful dinner." I giggled, sitting on my bed. "Not how I thought it would go, but I'm happy about that."

I convinced Shade to change before me, telling him it would take a while for me to change out of the dress.

"Indeed." Shade replied from inside the bathroom.

My mind trailed off, back to the kitchen.

"Hey Rach." Shade said, snapping his fingers in front of my face to get my attention. "You can go change now since you were so adamant about changing after me."

"Ahh! Right, thank you." I hummed.

I got up, grabbed my pajamas, and headed over to the restroom.

"Oh!" I gasped, turning around to face Shade right before I walked into the restroom. "Could you help me with the zipper first?"

"Sure." he shrugged.

"Thank's." I smiled, turning around and placing my hand in my chest area.

The slowly started unzipping it, his thumb lightly brushing up against my back.

I turned around when he finished unzipping it and kissed his cheek gently.

"Thank you." I breathed out.

"Of course." he smiled softly down at me, cupping my face with his hand.

"Shade..." I whispered, unable to look away from his eyes.

"Yeah?" he murmured.

It seemed like I had lost all power of speech. So I didn't speak, I just acted.

I just gently pressed my lips against his and let that do the talking for me.
