What am I supposed to do now?
"Marino?" I hummed, staring at the test.
"Yes, Cookie?" he responded.
"Please don't tell anyone about this yet." I breathed out. "Just until I figure out what to do."
I don't know what to do.
"Of course." Marino nodded. "I won't speak a word about it until you give me permission to do so."
"Thank you," I whispered.
"Of course." he smiled. "So, if I may ask, who is the father?"
"The father..." I trailed off.
Shade.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Marino murmured.
How am I supposed to tell him?
"Its Shade." I breathed out. "Shade is the father."
How will he react?
"Shade?" he hummed. "One of your roommates?"
What will he do?
"Yes," I answered. "Shade Night, one of my roommates. The one that I've been secretly in love with for years."
"You should probably tell him soon," Marino said.
"How?" I asked. "How am I supposed to tell him? How am I supposed to tell the others?"
"Just be honest with them, I guess." he shrugged. "However you decide to tell them is completely up to you."
"We met a little girl who needs a family at the adoption place today," Alec said. "I think she would be a nice addition to the family."
"That's nice." I hummed, sitting down at the table after I put my plate in the dishwasher.
I still haven't figured out how to tell them.
"We set up a meeting for tomorrow so we can know how she gets along with the two of you and how she does here." Nick grinned. "It's from four to six."
"I'll do my best to get home by then for that." I nodded.
"I'll tell my boss about that." Shade murmured. "So if we have to go somewhere tomorrow, I'll just stay behind."
Shade... how am I going to tell him?
"How old is she?" I asked.
"She's fifteen and a freshman in a nearby high school," Alec answered. "If we adopt her then she won't have to transfer to a different school."
I hummed in response.
"That's good." Shade said. "I hope everything works out."
"Me too." I agreed.
"Definitely. On another note, Nick and I are going to go shopping later today." Alec added.
I'm lying on the couch, watching what's on TV while wearing short athletic shorts and a loose tank top. I'm not really paying attention, though.
"Why did I fall in love with you?" I asked as Shade plopped his head in my lap.
He's shirtless, wearing only a pair of green flannel pajama pants.
"Probably the abbs," he remarked, grinning up at me.
"Nah, I don't think that's it." I hummed, smirking back at him teasingly. "I'm pretty sure that I've seen better."
Shade pouted in response which I stuck my tongue out to.
"But," I drew out, nervously waiting for his response for what I'm about to say. "They're not the one I fell in love with, and their not the one who got me pregnant."
There was a small plop sound coming from the other side of the room.
I looked over and saw Alec and Nick with grocery bags on the floor around their feet, staring at me dumbfoundedly.
"You're what?!" Nick exclaimed.
Crap.
"Um, hi, guys." I laughed. "How was shopping?"
Shade's not saying anything, he's just staring into space with glazed over eyes. This isn't going according to plan. Nothing is.
"You're pregnant?" Alec asked softly.
"That, that's what the test said." I nodded. "Yeah."
"How did that happen?" Shade wondered, blinking and looking up at me.
"I don't know, you tell me." I retorted nervously. "You were there."
"Was I?" he murmured.
"Yes," I answered. "You were."
He hummed, looking off again for a moment before looking shocked and turning over onto his stomach.
"Wait!" he exclaimed. "You're pregnant? And they're mine?"
"Yeah," I breathed out.
"And what are you going to do with them?" he asked.
"I, I don't know," I whispered.
"I'll support you in whatever your decision will be, then." he murmured, cupping my face gently.
