"So, how's Rosy doing?" sergeant Leon asked.
I just got back from the hospital. Rosy had a fairly quick birth from what the doctors told me.
"Well, she's doing well," I answered. "She had a baby girl. Both of them are fine and the baby is healthy."
"That's good to hear." he nodded.
"Yeah." I sighed. "It is indeed, sir."
Marino came up to us, looking a little rushed."Hey, Cookie," Marino breathed out. "Glad I caught you before I left here."
He patted my shoulder, causing my body to involuntarily tense up.
"What's up?" I asked.
"There was another one," he answered. "I'll fill you in on everything on the way to the crime scene. Let's go."
Oh, right. The new case.
"Umm, alright." I hummed. "Bye, sergeant."
I turned around and followed Marino to the car to go to the new crime scene.
"So, she had a baby girl?" Marino asked, glancing at me from the corner of his eyes.
"Yeah, she did." I nodded. "So, the case?"
"Right." he hummed. "Young girls who live on their own are being tied down in their rooms and sexually assaulted. This is the third girl and the guy calls them a different name."
"Their ages?" I wondered.
"Anywhere from eighteen to twenty years old," Marino answered.
"And what is the name that they call the victims?" I asked. "You mentioned something about that."
"Umm, well," he hesitated.
"I don't wanna go into this blind, Marino." I huffed. "Tell me."
"He calls them Rachel," Marino muttered.
"Oh, umm," I uttered.
Marino parked the car in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
"That could just be a freaky coincidence." I sighed. "But, just so they don't get even more uncomfortable with me, don't tell them my first name. Just refer to me by my last name, like you usually do."
It has to be a coincidence. It just has to be.
"You got it," he nodded. "Dr. Cookie."
"Hey," I softly said, walking up to the victim. "I'm Dr. Cookie."
This is probably one of the worst parts of the job: having to question people who just had their lives taken away.
It's sickening what people do to other people.
"H-hi." she whimpered. "I'm Lillian."
"Hi, Lillian." I murmured. "Can you tell me what happened?"
"H-he, he raped me." she cried. "He knocked on my door and when I opened it, he barged in. he, he hit my head causing me to fall down and forcefully undressed me while calling me Rachel before, before raping me."
"Can you tell me what he looked like?" I asked gently. "What he wore" what he smelled like?"
"He wore dark clothing, gloves, and a helmet that covered his face," she breathed out. "He was average height, I guess. He smelled like, like beer and cigarettes."
"A helmet?" I hummed. "Like a motorcycle helmet?"
"Y-yes." she nodded, letting out another sob. "I, I think so. It was black too."
"Alright," I nodded. "Thank you, you've been a great help. Now, these people are going to take you to the hospital to get checked up."
My phone started ringing, causing me to wake up.
I groaned, throwing my covers off of my body and standing up from my bed before walking over to my dresser.
"Dr. Cookie here." I yawned after I answered the call. "What happened?"
"I'm sorry to bother you so late," sergeant Leon said. "But there's been another one. Are you free?"
"Yeah," I sighed. "Yeah."
"Great, I'll send you the information." he hummed. "And the address."
I can just see him nodding with a smile on his face.
"Alright." I nodded. "I'll be there as soon as possible."
"Alright," Leon repeated. "I'll send someone to go get you and take you there."
The call ended.
I sighed, setting my phone back down.
I guess I should get dressed now. I should hurry, so the new victim doesn't have to wait very long.
I grabbed my work clothes and quickly changed into them, putting my gun in its holder on my hip, and grabbing my badge and my phone.
The sergeant should have sent the address and everything else by now.
I put my hair into a ponytail before grabbing my phone and leaving my room.
I'll write a note to the others before I leave, so they know where I am going.
