"What?!" I exclaimed, staring at the doctor in shock.

Shade has a dumbfounded look on his face and I'm sure that I have the same look on my face as well.

"You're having twins." the doctor repeated. "You see here in one."

He pointed to one spot on the screen.

"And here is another," he said, pointing to another spot.

Twins...

Never in a million years would I think that I would have twins.

I mean, man.

Twins.

Are we going to be able to handle that? Considering our jobs...

"Well," Shade hummed. "Thank you, doctor."

The doctor nodded in response. "I'll give you two a few moments to yourselves."

The doctor walked out of the room.

Both of us stayed silent for a while, just staring at the screen that shows us our... twins on it.

"Man," I breathed out, breaking the silence. "Twins. We're having twins."

"Yeah. Wow." he murmured. "Twins."

        "So," Nick drew out. "Rachel."

"No." I frowned, turning around to face him. "No. Not gonna happen. It's not gonna happen."

"Why not?" he pouted.

"Because I said so!" I grumbled.

"But-" he started to say.

I didn't let him finish.

"Nick Tryniski!" I huffed. "I'm not gonna happen. I am not telling them right now. That's that, now deal with it."

He opened his mouth to try and say something again.

"My answer is no. End of discussion." I snapped angrily. "Now drop it."

I left the room.

I left the house, actually.

I decided to go for a walk to calm my anger down.

A nice, long walk through the forest. Away from humans.

Away from the thought of my family.

I don't know how long I've been out.

I just know that when I stormed out, the sun was still peaking through the clouds. It's very dark out now.

I quietly closed the door behind me and headed to the living room.

"Rachel!" a familiar dark figure gasped, hugging me close to his chest.

Shade.

"Where have you been?" he asked, letting me go and staring at me in the eyes. "I've been so worried. You've been gone for three hours!"

He kept his hands on my shoulder.

"I went for a walk to clear my head." I shrugged, unable to keep eye contact with him. "I guess I lost track of time."

"I was so worried," he mumbled, hugging me close to his chest again and burying his head in the crook of my neck. "I was so scared that something happened to you."

"Well," I murmured, hugging him back. "As you can see, I'm just fine."

We both stayed in that position for what seemed an hour, just hugging each other closely in the middle of the living room.

"I'm sorry, Shade," I whispered. "I didn't mean to frighten you. I just really needed to get out of the house before I said something I regretted. I'm sorry."
