"You've got this, Cookie." Nick grinned. "Just go in there and show them who's boss."
"Right." I nodded determinedly.
"I'll be back to pick you up around one," Nick said.
"Got it." I nodded again before walking into the building.
It's now or never.
I've got this.
Wait...
I don't even know where I'm supposed to go.
"Hey," the man in front of me greeted. "You're Rachel, right?"
"Yeah," I mumbled. "Hi."
"I'm Peter." he smiled. "I'm your new trainer. How are you, ma'am?"
He has a nice smiled. Very warm and comforting looking.
"I'm, um, fine," I answered. "How are you?"
"I'm good," he responded.
Maybe this won't be so bad after all.
"Everything go smoothly?" Shade hummed, hugging me when I got to his car.
I hugged him back, clinging to his shirt.
"As smoothly as it could have gone." I sighed.
"Come on," he murmured. "Let's go get something to eat. You must be sick of staying at the house so much."
"Alright." I breathed out. "Where are we headed to?"
Shade helped me into the car before saying something.
"It's a surprise," he said.
"Is it now?" I mused.
"Yes." he chuckled. "It is."
He started the engine and drove out of the parking lot.
"Rachel." Shade said.
"Yes?" I hummed.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"Nothing's wrong," I replied. "Why do you ask?"
"Something's clearly wrong, Rachel." Shade pushed.
"It's nothing. Something that one of the people I questioned said just, just got to me." I muttered. "It's nothing, really."
"What did she say?" he frowned.
"Something about how women should not be cops or whatever." I shrugged. "It really doesn't matter, I promise. Please, can we just drop it?"
I let out a breath.
This has been quite the eventful evening.
Argued with Alec, trouble with interrogation, and now a nice little evening with Shade, the father of the little ones in my stomach.
It's quiet at the restaurant that he took us to.
It's nice.
"Rachel," Shade murmured, taking me out of my thoughts. "I know it's quite soon, but..."
Quite soon for what?
"What?" I wondered. "What is it?"
He got up from his chair and kneeled in front of mine whilst taking something out of his pocket.
"Shade?" I hummed. "What's going on?"
What is he doing?
"Will you marry me?" he asked.
He opened what looks to be a small black box.
I froze for a few moments.
"Um," I uttered.
He looks so nervous and worried.
"Yeah, yeah," I nodded. "Yes. yes, I will."
He kissed me on the lips as he slid the ring on my finger.
"I love you, Rachel." he murmured against my lips. "I love you so much."
"I love you too, Shade." I giggled.
"Shade!" I called excitedly, my hands on my stomach.
"Yes?" he replied loudly, running into the living room. "What is it?"
"Their kicking." I grinned. "Come feel."
"Realy?" Shade gasped.
He hurried over to where I'm sitting and gently placed his hands on my growing stomach. I moved his hands to where they were moving around.
His eyes widened.
"Do you feel it right?" I asked.
He nodded slowly. "Yeah. I feel it."
Nick walked into the room as Shade kissed my stomach gently.
"What's all the shouting about?" Nick asked worriedly. "Did something happen?"
Shade started murmuring to my stomach quietly.
"Yeah, something did happen." I giggled. "They moved. My felt babies move for the first time."
"What happened?" Alec yawned shuffling into the room as well.
"Our babies kicked." Shade murmured.
He's rubbing his cheek on my stomach now.
"You're weird," I mumbled. "So, so weird."
