Y/n L/n
Dionysus' Bar°°°
Y/n picked up their drink from the wooden counter, relishing in the cold condensation that had began to appear. The bar was crowded which was surprising due to it being fairly new. The large crowd was exactly the reason why they were there, it was an easy way to gain more money. Wherever they looked, the patrons of the bar were staring in their direction, averting their eyes when Y/n made eye contact. It was all due to the rumours across the kingdoms that gave Y/n more attention than they wanted.
Y/n took a sip of their cold drink, the ale slipping straight down their throat in one gulp. Easy jobs like this were simply boring if they didn't get a buzz before hand.
After finishing the drink, they slid a couple of coins across the counter to the barkeeper, who had come back in hopes they'd like a refill. Y/n nodded to the young man and got up from their stool, entering the large group of people separating them from the door.
Though their expression remained neutral, a glint of mischief flashed across their eyes before they disappeared within the many bodies. Y/n's hands moved at a lightning speed, reaching into coats and pockets, robbing the drunk men of the money they had.
Once they were a fair bit away from the bar on top the hill, Y/n looked at their bounty. Their fingers were covered in wedding bands and their pockets full of coins of different sizes and colours.
The moon was watching from up high in the sky as Y/n walked down the beaten path to their home. It was secluded from the rest of the houses out this way. Nobody lived out here besides farmers and those who could afford a house, but couldn't afford Olympus' taxes.
The King had decided years ago after the war with its grandmother kingdom, Gaea, that he'd put more money into their army. That meant a rise in taxes, leaving most people homeless. Y/n had tried hard to help those that they were raised along with gain some hold of their lives after the raise. Living on the streets was something Y/n didn't wish upon any child and usually gave their earnings to the unfortunate beings.
Tonight was a selfish run and Y/n was worried that their curse would act up. It never did around the children, which Y/n was very glad or else they wouldn't know how to support them.
Their fear came true when they walked through the threshold of their house and all of the 'borrowed' items disappeared without a trace. It wasn't their fault that one of the sons of Zeus left out his precious weapon for anyone to take, but it was their fault for getting caught with it. They had been taught better to not get caught.
A rustle of feathers stopped them before they could relive that hellish memory of that one day. Y/n turned to the open window and made eye contact with the eagle that had perched itself on their windowsill. There was a scroll in it's mouth, but Y/n made no advances towards it. The bird scared them as well as the person who owned it.
Noticing their lack of approach, the eagle let the scroll drop, creating a mess as it knocked over a bowl of stew. Y/n snatched the paper up before it touched the leaking liquid. The eagle screeched at them and flew off, most likely flying back to it's owner in the center of Olympus.
Y/n leaned up against their table and opened the scroll, pulling it straight with both hands.
