You were never liked at Camp Half-Blood. When you had first arrived, you shocked a child of Hermes into a coma. You didn't know how you did it at the time. You had just slept next to him and had woken up to him in a coma.

You later found out that you were a child of Hypnos. How the son of Hermes fell into a coma had now made sense to you and everyone else in the camp.

Chiron stood up for you when the children of Hermes tried to hurt you. You were only five at the time but you understood the feeling of losing a loved one. Chiron took it upon himself to help you control your power of inflicting deadly nightmares on to the living. He helped you form a weapon from your power. Despite the training, no one liked to be around you. They thought you were a curse, and to be honest, you thought so as well. Ironically, your power was a nightmare to not only others but to yourself.

For nine years you were always the outsider. The last one picked for anything. It didn't help that your cabin was empty and that the largest cabin hated you.

It all changed when Luke showed up. He was the only one from the Hermes cabin that acknowledged your existence. He was the only person that had willingly talked to you in nine years with kindness.

The two of you became attached to each other. Luke told you all about his childhood and his journey to Camp Half-Blood. He spoke in so much pain that you almost cried. You didn't though. The other boys at camp called you a wuss when you started crying when they hit you.

"It's okay to cry," Luke said after you had told him about your mother's death, "I won't laugh."

"The other boys say it makes me look weak. Whenever I look weak, they take it upon themselves to-" You stopped talking.

The two of you were 16 now. It had been two years since Luke had arrived. Despite Luke being by your side, the others still hit you. You didn't understand why you deserved the pain. What had happened to the Hermes child was an accident made by a young boy with no control of his powers. Eleven years later and they still held it against you.

Luke's expression hardened. He grabbed you by your shoulders and turned you so you were looking at him. "Are they still hurting you?" He asked. All you could was simply nod. You knew if you opened your mouth, you'd start to cry and you wouldn't stop.

Luke let go of your shoulders and stood up. He rolled up his sleeves and took a step towards the door of the Hypnos cabin.

"Luke," You whimpered. You grabbed him by the forearm and tugged him back towards the bed you were sitting on. If he went to 'talk' to the boys, he'd only make it worse for you. Besides, you wanted him to stay with you. You wanted him to talk to you until you fell asleep.

Luke turned around and looked at you. He looked down at your scared eyes and he knew immediately why you were pulling him back.

"I can't let them continue to hurt you. You mean so much to me Y/n and I don't want to lose you too," Luke said. He sat beside you and took your hands into his. "You're one of the few people in my life that actually care enough about me to stay by my side."

You didn't say anything back. You scanned his eyes, looking for the lie in them. You simply couldn't believe that someone could care for you. Your mother was the only person who didn't think you were a freak and she ended up dead. Now this handsome and popular guy was saying that you, a freak who had killed people, mattered to him.
