It was a chilly day for March. You and Hazel were planning to have a picnic out in the fields when the sun was suddenly hidden behind the neverending clouds.
To say you were sad was an understatement. With both your busy schedules, it was hard to get the same day off. You had wanted your only day off to be a beautiful one but instead you were stuck inside.
"We could still go outside. I don't mind the cold weather," Hazel said. She wrapped her arms around your waist and rested her head between your shoulder blades.
You shook your head at her suggestion. You knew how the cold affected her. Whenever the weather was way below sweater weather, Hazel's eyes would glaze over like she was almost in a trance. You knew it reminded her of how she died in Alaska so you always made sure to be inside if you could.
"How about I get us something warm to drink," You said, softly. "That way we can stay nice in warm in here. We can even finish reading our book."
Her arms loosened from around your waist. You took that as a yes and turned around to look at her. You bent down to give her a soft kiss on the head before leaving the room to boil the water.
You returned to the room to see the Hazel had already made herself comfortable on a couch. 'The Prisoner of Azkaban', was resting on her lap while she looked outside at the gray sky.
"I made green tea," You stated, setting down the two mismatched mugs. "Is that alright with you?"
Hazel turned her gaze away from the window and looked up at you. "Of course it is," She said, sending you a soft smile.
She moved the knitted blanket (a gift from Annabeth) away from her lap so you could lay down between her legs. Once you had, you grabbed the blanket and placed it on top of you both.
Hazel let out a small laugh when the only thing she could see was the top half of your face from the blanket.
"Now where were we in the book?" Hazel asked, as her free hand started playing with your hair. She already knew but she liked to ask you. Hazel always had a hunch that you would fall asleep whenever she read to you so she asked questions like this frequently.
When you answered, your voice was slightly muffled due to the blanket. "The part when Snape says to turn to page 394." Hazel heard you say. She sighed in defeat, you always answered correctly.
A few hours later, Frank walked into the room, wanting to talk to Hazel about something when he saw the two of you asleep. Your tea was half gone and the book was set closed on the ground.
Frank smiled at the scene and slowly left the room. He was happy the two of you were able to get in time together because you both deserved it.
