STORYTIME!

"Virgil, no."

"Come on Logan please! We have enough money and they aren't especially needy like dogs are and they're cute and fluffy and have been proven to help with mental health. Plus they're, like, super warm and cuddly and you'd love one!"

"No means no, Virgil. We cannot get a cat."

Virgil pouted, crossing his arms. He and Logan were out shopping st the mall because Logan only wears business casual attire unless it's Sunday at home, and that's on a good day. Logan kept walking without Virgil, who looked longingly at the pet store. There were so many kittens who need their love and saving. Virgil really really wants a cat...

That's when Virgil got an idea. Logan was always snarky and literal so why can't he? He decided to be like his brother Patton and walk into the store anyways. Logan said they can't get a cat. He'll get multiple cats! Virgil walked in and found two twin kittens who haven't been adopted from the litter. Instantly, he fell in love. He wanted to get them on the spot but remembered something...

Logan and Virgil came in the same car. Logan would get mad and insist he return them once he sees. Virgil instantly cringed, not wanting to socially interact due to his Social Anxiety. However, he found a nice store clerk and asked that they keep the kittens for him to come back after he returns home with Logan. He can lie about going out later.

Time Skip

"Hey Logan, I'm going out."

Virgil called, slipping on his crocs and grabbing his car keys. He threw on a jacket and slipped it on. He looked over at the couch and saw Logan shifting his position, looking over at him. His eyes slanted, suspicious. Logan knows Virgil way too well. He knew that Virgil was planning something.

"Where? We've been out already today."

"Just going to go visit Patton. He shot me a text saying he wants to go grab coffee."

Logan sighed in defeat. Logan knows very well that he can't resist his older brother and his antics to get some quality time. Virgil was lucky it was Saturday or that alibi wouldn't check out. Patton is an elementary school teacher. Virgil turned around and smiled wide, walking out the door to the car. He opened his phone and texted the pet store lady to make sure the kitties were still there.

Score! The kitties are still there! Virgil pulled out of the driveway real fast, excited to go get his two new BFFFs: Best Feline Friends Forever. He didn't notice Logan topping out onto the porch with his finger in his book. He watched him go with crossed arms, he went in the opposite direction to the Starbucks they normally meet at. With a sigh, he went back inside.

He better cat-proof the house.

Time Skip Reprise

"Logan! I'm home!"

"Virgil, I said we cannot get a cat."

"I know! That's why I bought two!"

Logan facepalmed as he saw the two kittens in his arms. But he hasn't seen Virgil this happy in a long, long time. It's a good thing he already cat-proofed the house and grabbed some newspapers to work as a makeshift litterbox for the time being.

That's how you win in relationships.
