The worst that could happen to me, it was embarrassing.
So, the coach made us run a mile around the track. Everything was going so, well. All the freshman were slow and a lazy to run. They either jogged or walked. Some did run, but not all. I was ahead most of them, on my third on to my last. Luke was way behind me. I guess Luke doesn't like running. On my last lap, I'm not sure how he did it, but he was ahead of me now. How could someone that was on their second lap, catch up so fast? I swear he was speedy, that one little rat from that one cartoon, Speedy Gonzales. Anyways, he was ahead of me and was showing off, by running backward. I glared at him. I ran as fast as I could catching up to him. He had stopped to tie his shoe. That gave me an advantage. I smirked when I passed him. He just shook his head and stood up, proceeding running.
I had finished my lap and had stopped to pick my water bottle from the side. I turned around, trying to get a glimpse of Luke. But I don't see him. I shrugged it off. Now as clumsy as I am, I ran out to the track again. Coach just gave us free time. I like running keeps me fit. I was chubby during middle school and had lost weight during junior high, and then when I started high school, I lost pounds and pounds. Now look at me I'm the right size. As I said, I'm clumsy. I wasn't paying attention to where I was running, and I ended up crashing into someone. I lost my balance and fell, dragging the person that I had bumped to, I fell on top of them. I sat up and looked down.
Luke stared back. He smirked and groaned at the same time. Everyone stared at us. I felt heat rush into my cheeks and my whole face. I knew I was red as a tomato.
"If you don't mind getting off unless it feels comfortable," he smirked.
"Wipe that smirk off your face," I blushed and punched his chest. I shouldn't have done that. I stood up and held my wrist. I broke it. I know I did. "Are you made out of stone or something."
"Let me see," he stood taking my hand. I winced. "Sorry, you shouldn't have punched me, my chest made out of stone." He said sarcastically.
"Ha ha," I held my hand. "I think I broke it."
"Nah, I think you just strain it," he said.
"What's going on?" The coach asked.
"She strained her hand by punching my chest," Luke told him.
"Go to the nurse, not sure how that's even possible," he mumbled as he walked away.
I headed over to the nurse. Luke followed behind. I swapped his hand sway when he lifted my shirt up he such a perv. "Quit it," I said.
"Was just checking if you didn't have a bruise," he smirked. I glared.
We got to the nurse's office she asked what happen and I told her. She shook her head.
"There we go," she said. "It's just strain, try not to lean on it too much."
"Okay," we left and walked back to class.
Well, we only had like 15 minutes left of class. By the time we got there, the bell had rung. Took us long because he wanted to get a snack front he vending machine. Ay, but at least I got a free granola bar.
We went in. The coach said to get change and to go home. He was leaving already. I sighed and went into the changing room. Luke went and changed too. I was having difficulty taking my shirt off. Then I felt someone in front of me, lifting it off over my head. I looked up at Luke.
"What are you doing here?" I grabbed my blouse. Trying to cover up as best I could. Well, I already had the skirt on.
"You were taking to long," he smiled. "Nice bra."
I went to smack him but stopped.
"Yeah thought so," he laughed.
I slipped on my blouse and button it up as best as I could. He swapped my hands away and helped me. I felt slightly embarrassed. I didn't get put the coat on, we left, he had my backpack, and we walked down the street.
He kept on looking at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing," he said.
We walked for a bit more, and we stopped in front of his home.
"Well bye," I went to grab my bag. Luke kept it out of my reach."Hey not fair, you're taller than me."
I jumped up for it curse him and his tallness.
"I'll give it to you if you come in," he said. "I get bored and need some company."
I looked at him, after jumping up like an idiot.
"Fine," I sighed and followed him. "You need to get out more make friends; you're lonely aren't you?"
"I do go out, sometimes," he mumbles.
"Well get out more, you need a tan," I said.
"I love my paleness. Thank you very much," Luke said and opened the door. Felt like forever, he needs to get an elevator.
"Ah master Luke," George, his butler came towards us.
"Hi George," I said.
"Lady Elise," oh god lady? His to formal.
"Can you get us some drinks and snacks?" Luke said undressing. He was undressing. He hated the uniform that much.
I turned around when he went for his pants.
"What like you never seen a guy naked," he laughed.
"I um," get grabbed me and turned me around.
"There," he had a whole different outfit.
"So," I looked around. "Want to give me a tour?"
"Sure," he took my hand and dragged me around. I saw music room, ballroom it was huge, and saw the kitchen. Some living rooms, and more rooms. Empty ones. Saw the garden, which needed a little color everything was dead.
"I can plant some green you know if you want," I said.
"Nah I like them dark and creepy," he said. I looked at him; he looked back. "Okay, maybe a few."
I shrugged.
"This is the library," he said. He didn't have to tell me twice. I went in and looked around. Shelf after shelf cover the walls. It was huge and with many books. "Yeah thought so."
"So many books," I said.
"Yup, if you'll like you can come here after school and check them out," he said sitting down.
"Maybe," I fixed my glasses. Always keep slipping.
I didn't hear any sounds. I thought Luke had left, but he didn't. He was sitting there just staring at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh nothing," he smiled.
George came in with a trait of drinks and snacks. I was afraid to touch them.
"They aren't poison," Luke said.
"I know that," I picked my drink up and sipped on the straw. Orange soda. Not bad. Not bad. The snacks where shape bat cookies. "A bit too early for Halloween don't you think?"
"Ah," Luke chuckled. George said to call if we need anything.
So we spend the day going from book to book. Well I did, he just stared and complained about my lack of talking and how nerdy I am. I merely laughed at it.
I think I'll be coming here more often.
