I can't. I can't.
"Luke!" I struggled to get up.
The whole winter break was going fine, until new years. We where attacked. Attacked by them, the dark demons, the soulless one. And, she was alive. I couldn't believe it; I know I killed her. She couldn't have survived. Those demons can't come back to life. Not their kind.
"Luke!" I stood up. Looking at the people running around, screaming and yelling. House's were on fire. The sky was red. Red as blood. "Luke!"I turned to my side to see my mother calling me. I frowned. She had Alina in her arms. Alina didn't look like she was breathing.
I ran to them.
"Alina?" I was afraid.
"She's alright she's just unconscious, we have to go now, come on," I nodded and followed them. My father was waiting for is with Calvin. A portal was open. We went in, after that we ended up at the cabin. The one where Elise and I went to m father broke the mirror so that no one would follow.
"Our people," I said.
"Don't worry; they manage to escape," my father said. "Well only the children where save, don't worry," my father said.
"She's alive, how can that be," I said.
"I'm not sure," my mother said laying Alina on the bed. "But she knows about you, and your friends."
"What?" Oh no. I put Elise in danger. My friends.
"She may go after them, but mostly Elise," my mother said.
"I need to go and find her,"I said.
"Alright, but son," I didn't like his tone. "Being with a human is risky, you need to make a decision, you know if she stays with you, there will always be a danger. People will go after you." I shook my head. "Either erase her memories of you, with everyone else that met you, or stay with her and risk everything."
No not this again. I can't do this to me and make me choose, again. I can't lose Elise; I can't.
"I can't," I said. "I want to stay with Elise."
They didn't say anything as I walked out. I'm going to find Elise, and I'll protect her. I'll always protect her.
"Hey wait up!" Calvin ran over to me. "I'm coming to; Rick may be in danger too."
"Fine," I said and kept walking.
When we finally arrived at home. Everything seems alright. We did fly half the time. I changed clothes and went out again.
I sighed, school is next week. That will make things easier for me. That way I can protect Elise.
"I'll go find Rick," Calvin said. I nodded, and we went different directions. I arrived at Elise home. She was getting out of a car. Her parents were with her.
"Elise," I ran over to her and hugged her and held her tight.
"Oh Luke, when did you get here?" She wrapped her arms around me. I saw her parents wave at me and went inside.
"Last night," I said.
"Oh well come in," I follow her in and towards her bedroom. Once there I closed and locked it I paced back and forth. "What's wrong?"
"Everything is wrong; I may have put you and everyone else in danger," I said.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Some of the dark demons have lost control and," I paused. How can I say it? Sighing, I just said it. "She's alive."
"Who?" She frowned.
"Maryanne," I sighed sitting down. "Elise, you and the rest aren't safe."
"Than what to do, school starts in a week," she said scooting closer.
"I don't know, Shawn a warlock he knows more than I, so he will keep Duke safe, Calvin went for Rick and I for you. But I don't want to leave your parents alone," I said.
"Oh," we sat there thinking for a long time. "I wish we could tell my parents, about you."
"They'll damn me and try to do an exorcism on me," I chuckled.
"No they won't, if we can get them to understand,"I stood up.
"No, Elise," I sighed. There's no way I'm telling her my other option. "I'll find a way to protect you and them, for now, I'll stay here with you."
"What are we going to tell my parents?" She asked. "We have to find an excuse."
"Hm," I thought about it.
And so we ended up telling them I'm staying with them because my butler had to see his family. And it worked. Only I had to get my stuff. I did, and so now I'm here. But I had a feeling things will go for the worse. Maryanne will come for me. She will want revenge.
"Hmm, can you like leave the room?" Elise asked standing by the bathroom door, with only a towel around her and water dripping down her shoulder.
"Why ain't like I hadn't seen you naked before," I said standing up.
"What?!" She was blushing bright red. I chuckled and walked out.
I walked into the living room. Elise's parents were in the kitchen. It felt awkward sometimes. But I'm slowly getting used to it. I have been keeping in contact with my parents. Found out Calvin kidnapped Rick while he was sleeping. And they don't know where they are. But I bet they happy. I had warned Shawn about my situation
Shawn said he has been watching Dulce. He had placed a protected spell on the necklace he gave her.
"You seem, tense boy," Elise father said sitting on his chair.
"I'm just worried about George," truthfully George was safer than all of us. He was all over the world. At Australia. He did have family there. But none were sick.
"Relax, everything will be okay, have a beer," he tossed me a beer. "What your an adult no one will know."
I sighed and drank the damn beer.
It was the first time drinking beer; I have had wine. But never beer. And it wasn't bad.
Well, until his wife walked in and shook her head. "Henry, you can't give the boy beer. What were you thinking?"
"He's an adult," Henry said. "Let the boy be; he is tense. And is worry about George."
"Still, he is under our care," Leticia said. "You can't be doing this; he isn't one of your workers."
"Women," Henry said. "They are too judgemental, and are never satisfied."
"Henry," she smacked him. "Just, no more beer., understood?"
"Yes, ma'am," I said and finished the beer. Leticia smiled and left. And Henry gave me another one.
"One more won't hurt," he grinned.
Elise's father is very mischievous.
I think I like him. But then, I have to be careful, and not let him find out what I did with his daughter. That will be my death sentence.
I shook my head and chugged the beer.
