Remy watched his four year old run around the playground. The father had gotten a job, a boyfriend, and was starting school to become a doctor. Remy had started hormones a year ago, and he and Percy were getting an apartment soon. Life was going good.

Patton waved to his dad from the top of the playset. Remy waved back, smiling. Patton went down the slide, giggling happily. He was about to run back to the top when he saw a dark figure curled up under the stairs.

"Hi!" Patton giggled, sitting down next to the figure, "I'm Patton! Who are you?"

The other looked up with wide purple eyes, "I-I'm Viwdil."

"Are you here with your Papa?" Patton asked.

Virgil shook his head, "My mommy and daddy was yewing and I was scawed and I wun away and hide."

Patton hugged Virgil, "I'm sorry."

"Do you mommy and daddy yew?" Virgil asked.

Patton shook his head, "I have a Papa and my Papa has a boyfriend."

Virgil's eyes went wide again, "but boys can't have boyfwiends. My daddy said it bad."

Patton frowned, "your daddy sounds mean."

Virgil nodded and hugged his knees, "My daddy and mommy awe weally mean."

"Patton?" Remy called, looking under the stairs, "there you are. Who's this?"

"This is Virgil!" Patton giggled, "his mommy and daddy said boys can't have boyfriends."

"M-My daddy said it weally bad and it wong." Virgil said quietly.

"Well, some boys love other boys and that's okay." Remy smiled, "All that matters is that you love the boy or girl you want to stay with."

Patton nodded, "I will love the boy I marry with all my heart!"

Virgil giggled.

"Virgil!" Someone barked.

"Uh oh, my daddy hewe." Virgil stood up, "I have to go, bye-bye Patton!"

"Bye Virgil!" Patton waved to the boy as he ran off.

"Alright Patt," Remy said, picking up the four year old, "it's time to go home."

"Okay." Patton yawned and rubbed his eye, "do you think we'll see Virgil again?"

"I don't know Patt, maybe." Remy rubbed the child's back as he walked home.

Patton was asleep on Remy's shoulder by the time they arrived home. Remy opened the door and was immediately greeted by his boyfriend.

"Hey Rem." Percy whispered, kissing Remy, "how was the park?"

"It was refreshing." Remy smiled, "Patt made a friend."

"Oh?" Percy said, "What was the kiddos name?"

"Virgil, but from the way he was talking, he doesn't have the best home life." Remy sighed, "homophobic, aggressive parents."

Percy clicked his tongue and sighed, "people like that shouldn't have kids."

Remy nodded, "I feel bad for the kid, he looked terrified."

Percy hugged his boyfriend, "it'll be okay."

Remy nodded into Percy's shoulder. He pulled away after a few moments.

"I have to put Patt to bed now." Remy whispered.

Percy kissed him, "okay, love you."

Remy smiled softly and walked to Patton's room, "love you too Perce."
