I dash back to the DEO headquarters, just about making it here before she did.
"Dammit!" I hear a familiar voice exclaim.
"Why hasn't it hit you? You can't beat me Danvers." I smirk.
"I mean I always come close so maybe one day I'll beat the BTEC Flash." she teases.
"There's no way of knowing which of us got our powers first!" I pout.
"Awwwww is BTEC Flash is sad?" she whines as she grins.
I run away from her and end up back in my apartment. I get changed out of the latex that always hugs the wrong places, into something a little less... sticky. Slumping onto the couch, I pull a hoodie over my head and switched on the TV.
"You can't sit in front of the TV all day Jack." she says.
"That's breaking and entering Danvers." I point out.
"You still can't sit in front of your TV all day." she repeats.
"I can if I got fired by our- well your boss. And other reasons." I sass back.
"What other reasons are there?" she say as she sits beside me.
"I'm really tired. With no work I've been... working out a lot." I lie.
"Oh please. You haven't step foot in a gym since the end of high school. And even then you used to bunk PE!" she laughs.
If only she knew that I had just been running around helping her.
"Seems you don't know me that well..." I trail off.
"What do you mean?"
I get up and walk into to my room. I go to the back of my closet and bring out my suit. I'm gonna tell her this time. I venture back out into the living room and simply throw the suit towards her.
"That's what I mean."
"W-wait what? You're- you're"
"Your back up yes. I'm the BTEC Flash as you love to call me." I explain.
"But- what- how?" she asks.
"Same as Barry. Hit by lightning with a bunch of chemicals."
She stands in front of me mouth aghast.
"On the subject of things you don't know...."
"What?! What else don't I know?"
Instead of replying, I press a short kiss to her lips. I pull away quickly and sprint to my room, hoping for her to leave.
"Jack?" she calls out.
"Jack please come out. I need to tell you something."
I slowly trudge out of my room and back towards Kara.
"What do you need to tell me?" I ask.
She pulls me forward by my collar and smashes our lips together. She pulls away.
"I like you too." she confesses.
