Lucy saved the day

Normal P.O.V

Cancer had just finished the final touches on Lucy.

She already had her gown on, but she was now finished with her hair. If they wanted to have a successful mission, they had to look the part.

She looked just like her mother when she would dress up, and that made Lucy's heart happy.

She wanted to look just like her mother, and be just like her mother. At that moment, Lucy felt as though she was the spitting image of her late mother.

Laxus was stood behind Lucy, looking at her delicate face in the mirror.

To him, she looked beautiful, but he was Laxus, why was he thinking in such ways? He never saw her like that, so why now?

Lucy turned around, ready to go. The pair had already searched the perimeter of the ball room earlier in order to know possible entrances and exits.

He was nearly speechless for a moment before clearing his throat.

"You ready to go?" He asked, holding out his arm for the blonde to link with his. To gain access to the ball without looking suspicious, they had to pose as a couple.

They were one of the first couples in the room, secretly using their eyes to scan the area for any suspicious activity. So far seeing none, the pair relaxed.

"More and more people are showing up, I'm going to summon Loke to help me look around. Stand by the door and wait for the princess, she should be here in about," She rushed before looking about for a clock. "Five minutes."

Laxus nodded before watching Lucy walk off, Loke's key in her hand. She secretly summoned him with just a small movement of her wrist and a small whisper escaping her lips.

He smiled at her before standing next to a set of giant wooden doors with delicate detailing placed on them. Within a minute, the doors swung open, revealing the princess in a golden gown. The princess began walking to the center of the room, Laxus following closely behind.

Lucy was waking around one side of the ball room, Loke on the other. "See anything yet, Loke?" She asked him telepathically, her face staying with a smile.

"Not yet princess, I will alert you the moment I do." He responded, Lucy feeling satisfied that everything was going smoothly.

Laxus watched the princess engage with some of her friends, watching over the area. Seeing nothing, he begins to relax a little.

He sees Lucy walking around, giving her a small nod, indicating that they can switch. Lucy comes off the wall, and walks towards the princess, smiling at Laxus when he passes.

When Lucy got to where the Princess was, an awful feeling filled her stomach. She looked around, her eye not seeing anything out of place.

She locks her eyes onto a man slowly creeping towards princess Hisui, his right hand in his pocket, looking like he was grabbing something.

Without a single thought Lucy shouted, "Now Loke!" And pulled out her whip, grabbing the mans hand.

"Laxus, take the princess away!" She yelled, running through the screaming crowed to get to Loke who was trying to take down the man. She sees Laxus carrying the princess away, happy she is safe.

Lucy cracks her whip towards the man, injuring him. She then lassoes the whip around his ankles and pulled, making him fall to the ground.

Loke delivered a punch to the mans stomach, making sure he won't be fighting back anytime soon.

"Yes Loke! We di-" Lucy shouted but was soon cut off when a kick was delivered to her back. She groaned when her body hit the floor, sending a shockwave a pain throughout her body.

However, she quickly got up, growling at the man behind her. She delivered her famous Lucy kick to the man's check before he was knocked out cold.

"Wow blondie, that was impressive." Laxus smirked. Lucy just smiled before the royal guards came to take the men away.

Princess Hisui came running up to Lucy, swarming her in a giant hug. "Thank you Lucy, truly."

"It's my job silly! No need to thank me," Lucy giggled before announcing to the attendants that the party was now safe.

However, Lucy and Laxus spent the rest of the night watching the party, just in case.
