Normal P.O.V
"Hey Lucy, I just wanted to formally thank you for going on those missions with me. I appreciate that you gave me a second chance." Laxus smiled. If Sting was going to change his ways, so was he.
"Oh yea, no problem Laxus! I'm glad that you're changing yourself, for the better." Lucy smiled, touched by Laxus's words.
Only Lucy didn't know that he was only apologizing to beat Sting.
His apology was nothing but empty words, something he would make sure to not tell Lucy. She would feel betrayed, and like he only said those words to please her. Which was true.
"You've actually completely changed Laxus. You're no longer cruel, you're no longer thirsting for the power you once were. I'm proud of how far you've come. But I'm most proud of the fact that you can put your ego to the side and apologize for your wrongdoings, and your apologies are heartfelt."
Lucy sweetly smiled, gently squeezing Laxus's arm before walking away. Laxus was stunned, only just realizing the deeper effects of what he had just done.
He gave a fake apology because he wanted to impress her. And he knew that she took things like that seriously.
"Laxus? Are you okay?" The stern voice of Erza rang out, looking behind her to see that he was so far behind the group.
He shook his head, bringing himself back into reality. He heard a snicker, looking ahead to see Sting with a large grin upon his face.
He pouted and Lucy giggled, she held out her hand for him, making him smile. Stings eyes widened, shocked that she was supposedly with Laxus.
Erza smiled while gray and Natsu acted normal. Sure, they had their suspicions, but nothing was never confirmed. Gray had even questioned the girl when she got back from her last mission.
Laxus smirked at Sting, walking passed a very shocked blonde boy.
Laxus had even sneakily held his finger behind his back, sending a small bolt of lightning to the slayers feet, shocking him.
"Each team gets a room. This is so each team can rest when it is their turn, and they won't disturb the others. Come get your keys." Lucy broke apart from Laxus, getting their key as the hotel came into view. Luckily, Master had reserved their rooms early enough and managed to get the keys sent to the guild.
"We start tomorrow don't we? Or does the first group start today?"
"The first group starts tomorrow, I'll inform the groups individually on who goes first after I've determined the order. Now, go right to your rooms and get some rest."
Lucy sighed, leading the three of them into the hotel, and straight to their room. Lucy gasped when she opened the door.
There were three king sized beds, and a brilliant balcony leading out to the view of the water surrounding the city.
"I call the middle bed!" Lucy ran, jumping into the middle bed with a giggle.
"Welp, that settles that." Sting shrugged, walking to the bed closest to them, leaving Laxus with the bed next to the window. He didn't mind though, he quite liked the view.
"Do we start tomorrow? Or is it another group?" Sting asked, laying on his back.
"We start tomorrow! We're group one according to Erza." Lucy smiled, ready to take on this mission.
"Oh great, why are we group one? We don't know what we're getting into." Laxus on the other hand, didn't like the idea of being first. They wouldn't know what dangers lied ahead and would have to be on the most alert.
"Yea, maybe. But we were trusted with the first spot, so we have to fulfill her wish." Lucy retorted, getting up and walking around the room.
"Well, what time does duty start tomorrow?" Sting had asked meaningful questions, Lucy hoped that this meant Sting was interested in their mission.
"At sundown." Lucy recalled, checking out the gigantic bathroom that came with the room, satisfied with the tub so big it could fit all three of them.
"I'm going to have to take a bath tonight, look at this!" The boys peaked their heads in, shocked with the sheer size of the ceramic bowl.
"How'd gramps afford rooms like this for everyone?" Laxus asked, making Lucy smirk.
"Natsu hasn't been on any recent missions, so we have more money. Plus, they gave them to us cheaper because it's for a mission." Lucy answered quickly, making it Laxus's turn to smirk.
"You really have all the answers, huh? Someone payed attention."
"You got that right." She smiled back, walking out of the bathroom.
"Okay, lets not waste any time! We should check out the city now, just to get a grasp on what we're working with here." Lucy suggested, going to her bag to grab a map of the city.
"Good idea, Lucy." Sting complimented, smiling as Lucy gave him a thumbs up.
"Let's go, boys. After we walk around, we can go get food. So hurry up." She shouted, already out the door and starting down the hall.
"Man, she's on a roll today." Sting laughed, shaking his head at the perky blonde.
"Yea she is, come on, she's waiting." Laxus grumbled, pushing past the smaller blonde boy to catch up to Lucy who was waiting by the elevator.
Just as they reached her, the elevator opened, allowing for all of them to enter and ride it all the way down.
"Hmm, lets go this way." Lucy pointed left after looking at her handy-dandy map.
She tucked the map into her back pocket, walking with her eyes looking all over the street they were on.
Lucy occasionally smiled and waved at the occasional child, making Laxus smile at the girls cuteness.
