When I woke up, I found my phoenix sleeping next to me. For some weird reason the phoenix was white not red. I need to find out why it can change color. Then I noticed there was a sheet of paper in its mouth.
“Hey,” I whispered to it.
Good you’re awake. I have something for you.
It flew up and landed next to me. I took the sheet of paper out of its mouth.
“I didn’t know birds could write.” I said smiling as I unfolded the paper. “Is this what you wrote while you were gone?” It nodded. This is what the paper said:
Mood Color Code
1. Red- Normal
2. Silver- Happy

4. Blue- Angry (Curious)
5. Black- Frightened
6. Purple- curious

“What does it mean?” I asked confused.
This is why I change color.
“Sweetness…” I didn’t know what to say. I looked down the list. Black- Frightened, “So at the pet shop you were—,”
Yes, I was frightened.
“But why?”
Because he was about to throw me out. Would you be scared if were about to be thrown out?
“Yeah I guess.” I waited for an answer but when I looked over at it, it was asleep again. “Goodnight,” I had to think of a name for it. “Ale.” I closed my eyes preparing for a goodnight sleep.
