Chapter 3 - Awaken

It's been 3 days since Nepgear returned home but she's still unconscious. I've been visiting her room every day while Compa is staying with her. Nothing serious is happening to Nepgear as of now. All I've been doing is trying to recover lost shares, for Nepgear to gain her strength and consciousness back and of course, I'm also doing this for Planeptune.

Reyna has been helping me clear and sorting out of quests, despite the fact that she's not pleased with me using a gun.

Reyna: Do you mind not using your gun?

Reyna has finally opened her mouth and scolded me. I know, guns are prohibited by us knights and we don't want to cause a commotion to the people since guns are very noise when fired.

Perseus: I don't really use it much.

I reply back and I return my magnum back to my holster at the back of my belt. There was a time when my Beam Saber broke when fighting off ASIC. Since Nepgear wasn't around that time, I had to let Chian fix it for me. Though she was not fond of the structure of my blade so it took her a month to get it done. Although, she recommended me using a gun.

At first, I refused, because first of all, we knights aren't allowed to carry one. It is a sacred rule for us Knights to never carry any firearms. Legend has it that one of the knights in the past never used a firearm in battle, and it became a practice for generations, thus the Prohibition of using a gun. Since Lady Neptune and Lady Nepgear were absent those times.....I kind of broke it. Sure Reyna wasn't pleased with it, but without my Beam Saber, I can't fight but Lady Histoire doesn't mind at all of me using a gun.

Reyna: Just make sure to not use it around people. It will destroy our image us knights after all.

Reyna warns me about the usage of a gun in front of people. I don't know if me, being a knight will last long. I really don't mind being a knight for the rest of my life ......but I'm sure there will be a time for me to step out of my role.

Perseus: Yeah, I got what you're trying to say.

Reyna nods in response that I understand the whole situation, the whole thing with the gun. Actually, that's half of the reason why I use a gun. I in fact just like the idea of using a gun in battle. I know, before buying this new magnum of mine, it was a pain to reload with my old one, but it begs to differ when it comes to battle. The caliber of the magnum can Pierce through enemies scaly skin or shells, but not all. And on normal enemies, they are easy to deal with. And using this new magnum of mine, I'll totally use it as a lot.

As we are done finishing our current quest, I pull out a stick of cigarette and started smoking. Speaking of weapons, I should let Nepgear tweak my beam saber, it's a bit.....weaker compared before it broke a long time ago. I am having a hard time performing one of Lady Nepgear's moves that she taught me, which is slash wave. It is very helpful for multiple enemies at once. But now, I can't seem to do it anymore.

Reyna: Smoking after doing a quest eh? I know lady Nepgear has returned, but if I were you, you should stop immediately.

As she says those words, I do kind of considering smoking less than usual. Uni already scolded me about how bad smoking is. I do feel like something in my lungs too.

Perseus: Just one more stick then let's be off back to the guild.

I finish off smoking and then the two of us go back to the guild and turn in our finished quest. As we arrive, the guild girl gives us the rewards and we go back to Planeptower. We've been doing quests since Nepgear fainting that day, but the total amount of shares are still not enough. I know perfectly that it's not about the shares, she's also exhausted too. We just need enough shares for her to move around once she wakes up. I know that.
